Get your waterproofs at the ready: Shanghai's rainy season is on the way. According to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau and reports from Shanghai Daily, the day known as yushui (rain water) is set to fall tomorrow.
Yushui traditionally marks the start of the rainy season and today's grey weather, as well as tomorrow's predicted showers, are said to be typical of the second solar term (China's lunisolar calendar is split up into 24 terms).

But don't quit your day job for a metro exit-side umbrella stall just yet. The coming week is forecast to feature only two days of rain, with a smorgasbord of cloud, sunny spells and winds also predicted. Temperatures are set to reach a high of 17 degrees Celsius on Sunday before falling to below 10 degrees by the end of next week.
