Shanghai's biggest EDM festival is back this weekend, with Alesso, Hardwell and Skrillex heading up the bill, as well as Oliver Heldens, Duke Dumont and RL Grime. Iconic UK DJ Pete Tong will also be making an appearance. Note that this year they've upped sticks from beside Xuhui Riverside in favour of a site next door to Disneyland Shanghai.
Say goodbye to The Chalet
Sad news for Shanghaiers of a certain vintage - the origianl branch of beloved Yongjia Lu bar The Chalet is shuttering at the end of this week. Ni and the team are hosting a farewell party tonight and we don't expect The Chalet to go quietly into the night, so get down there for cheap beers and one last round of sizzling beef fajitas.

Portable AKA Bodycode’s music is an amalgamation of influences: raised in a Cape Town township, coming of age in London, departing to Berlin before finally settling in Lisbon. The result is deeply syncopated dance music that's hard to categorize but stands for something, blending his African heritage with the first wave of Chicago house. It ought to be a memorable live show.
