Bad news clubbers: Hudson Mohawke's big mid-week show on at Le Baron on Wednesday 11 has been cancelled due to a HudMo health issue.
The Hip-hop orientated IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) producer, who hails from Glasgow, went from bedroom producer to Kanye West’s in-house guru in a few short years, with a stint rolling out club bangers as one half of electronic duo TNGHT on the way. Whilst his career has seen a fair share of controversy, he's an undisputed master of his craft and the booking was quite the coup for Le Baron.
Organisers are saying this is a postponement not a cancellation, but with no new date set it's anyone's guess whether HudMo will be making a Shanghai appearance anytime soon.
In 2012 Mohawke, real name Ross Birchard, was snapped up by Kanye West to be in-house producer for his G.O.O.D. Music label, and since then he’s had rap A-listers such as Lil Wayne, Pusha T and Azealia Banks queuing up to spit on his beats. But he may be best known as the man who deified Mr West in his Yeezus production ‘I Am a God’.
