So the typhoon may have ripped through this weekend's two festival plans, but there's still plenty going on in and outdoors to tempt you out of the house. Here are our picks this weekend.
云CLOUD presents Lotic

云CLOUD presents Lotic
Saturday 22, 10pm, The Shelter, 80RMB
Raised in Houston, Texas and now operating out of Berlin, Lotic is a resident at the city’s famed Janus parties. His sound is 'an apocalyptic mix of haunting synth melodies, destructive beats, and skewed experimental electronica'. Expect gut-wrenching bass, lurching hip hop rhythms, occasional shards of contemporary R&B splintered with tactile hi-hats.
Streets Kill Strange Animals

Streets Kill Strange Animals
Saturday 22, 8.30pm, On Stage, 80RMB
Excellent Nanjing noise-rock outfit Streets Kill Strange Animals return to Shanghai as part of an extensive China tour in support of their new album McDonalds Kids.
Run For Your Lives

Run For Your Lives
Saturday 22, 11am, Expo Garden Park, 288-368RMB
Ever wondered what it'd be like to be running from flesh-hungry zombies in Pudong's Expo park? How about being a zombie chasing after those tasty-looking humans? Well this weekend there's the opportunity to do just that. 'Run for your lives' combines running and a flag tag game where you can choose to be either one of the infected zombies (catcher) and catch as many survivors as possible, or a survivor (runner) and try to stay alive until the bitter end in a virus-infected world. Head to the 'Run for your lives' website to sign up. It might also be worth checking their webite to see if they're still going ahead, what with the typhoon.
Les Ballets Monte Carlo

Les Ballets Monte Carlo: Le Songe (Midsummer Night's Dream)
Until Saturday 22, 7.15pm, Shanghai Culture Square, from 180RMB
Choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot presents his tribute to A Midsummer Night’s Dream. With the elaborate costumes and scenery, this is a feast for the eyes.
Lee Holman

Last Supper feat. Lee Holman
Friday 21, 10pm, Arkham, 100RMB
Footprint present techno globetrotter Lee Holman, who has been performing since the '90s. He's received acclaim for his mixing and production and went on to founding the Kawl imprint, the label aiming to provide diversity in Techno. This formula was immediately picked up on and amounted to rave reviews on Resident Advisor and impressive charts and plays by leading connoisseurs of the underground.
