Steph Curry and Karl-Anthony Towns will be going head-to-head in Shanghai this coming October as the Golden State Warriors take on the Minnesota Timberwovles at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
Following a game in Shenzhen on October 5, the sides will play in Shanghai on October 8 as part of their preparations for the 2017/18 NBA campaign. As far as the current season is concerned, the Warriors sit top of the Western Conference, while the Timberwolves are in ninth place, with hopes of making the playoffs for the first time in 12 years.
Basketball is extremely popular in China, with ex-NBA star Shaquille O'Neal having visited Shanghai several times in recent years, oddly making an appearance at the grand opening of Taco Bell in Lujiazui back in January. The Warriors won the NBA championship in 2015 and can boast the talents of the two-time reigning NBA MVP Steph Curry, who has visited China every year for the last four years.
