Shanghai's craft beer scene is on the rise more than ever, and the city's well-loved wine slinger BottlesXO is jumping on board by adding a range of brews to both its delivery service and menu at Former French Concession wine bar XO Bar on Hengshan Lu. Tonight (Friday 5 May), the team are celebrating the launch with Brews & Beats; a beer-fuelled party to roll out all of their newly stocked bottles.
The expert sippers at BottlesXO have tried and tested a huge range of beers from all over the world, so you'll only find a carefully curated selection of their favourites on offer. Being passionate supporters of local booze purveyors, new offerings include craft beers from Shanghai-based breweries Song and Westwood Ales, and other China-based brands like Nanjing's Master GAO and Dali's Bad Monkey. Additionally, there's a range of selections from around the world, like popular US breweries Ballast Point and Karl Strauss.
Join the party at XO Bar from 8pm – it's free entry, plus, all guests get a complimentary German Weiss beer on arrival. After that, find over 20 types of locally brewed and imported craft beers on the menu, plus a full range of European wines and cocktails. UHHH (formerly of TICT) will be sound-tracking the beer-fueled festivities till late.
And most importantly? As of today you can get these craft beers in four-bottle sets (75-140RMB) through the BottlesXO delivery app. That means ice-cold brews brought straight to your home, pool, patio, rooftop terrace – wherever's clever – in an average of 27 minutes... just in time for the incoming hot summer days.
