If you've been on Line 12 of the Shanghai Metro, you might have have noticed something different about one of its carriages: mainly special quotes printed on the hand-straps hanging from the roof.

On Saturday 6 May, Shanghai Metro and Shanghai Observer launched the '#ReasonToLoveShanghai' campaign on WeChat. Quotes submitted by the public were selected and added to the Metro coach and will remain on display in the carriage for the next two months. For those of you who kan bu dong, we've translated some of our favourites below.
'出门可以不带钱包，一部手机足矣，科技让生活更便利'
'You can leave your flat with just a phone and no wallet. Technology makes life way more convenient.'
'这是一座既可以奋力狂奔，又可以歇脚小资的城市'
'Join the hustle and bustle, or sit back and lead a petite bourgeois life.'
'让你可以一直做自己'
'You can always be yourself here.'
'因为有我从小爱到大的球队：申花'
'Because my favourite football team Shenhua is here.'
‘说不出她好在哪，但我们已离不开她’
‘We can't say what's so good about this place, but we can't leave either.’
(We really dig this next one):
'生煎馒头，葱烤大排，奶油哈斗，鲜肉月饼，猪油八宝饭，葱油饼，阳春面，粢饭糕，咸豆浆'
'Shengjian mantou, roasted pork ribs, chocolate eclairs, meaty mooncakes, mince pork rice, jianbing, veggie noodles, sticky rice rolls, salty soy milk...'
