The Shanghai West Bund Development group is looking for designers/artists to enter its visual identity (VI) design competition to promote the West Bund art area. Professional designer? Art student? Art novice? Art Garfunkel? Your artistic background doesn't matter, submissions are open to anyone and everyone, professionals and amateurs alike.

The 'West Bund X' competition is after logo and poster designs (text and/or graphics) for promotional and marketing purposes to be displayed around the West Bund art district. With the famous Centre Pompidou looking set to open a Shanghai location at West Bund, this is a chance to have your work displayed alongside (sort of, at least) some of the world's best.

As well as for promotional materials, the designs must also be appropriate for road markings and signs, events (like the West Bund Food Festival), and must include 'West Bund' or '上海西岸' (Shanghai West Bund) somewhere in the design.

The designs also need to match the West Bund's vision of being the 'excellent waterfront area of the global city' and must reflect its 'identity, cultural accumulation and distinctive connotation.' They are also required to be 'concise and clear, modern yet sublime; bright in theme, rich in content and easy to identify.'
The submission period is open until 5pm on Friday 12 May, if you're interested in entering or want to find out more, click 'read more' below to visit the competition's official page.
