This year's Shanghai Chongming International Marathon is taking place on Sunday 30 April and registration is now open. Held on Chongming Island, there are three races on offer: the full marathon (26 miles), a half marathon (13 miles) and a 5km health run.
With the time between registration and race day being quite short (potential runners must register online before April 14), the full marathon is perhaps for more seasoned runners who train regularly. After all, the last marathon you took part in involved a weekend on the sofa, three Sherpa's deliveries and an entire series of Game of Thrones.
The races start at Shanghai International Studies University's Xianda College of Economics and Humanities at 8am, with entrance fees being priced at 100RMB for the marathon, 80RMB for the half marathon and 50RMB for the health run.
