In the most hotly contested cooking competition to take place that weekend, four of the city’s finest culinary talents went head to head in Iron Chef: The Shanghai Edit at Social Supply’s home-grown food and drink festival FEAST.
In the opening contest, Simon Sunwoo of Liquid Laundry and Cobra Lily fame defeated Alan Wong’s own Beth Cosgrove to set up a meeting with Mercato’s Kelvin Chai who overcame Julio Gomez of Tomatito.
The final was too close to call for judges Michael Rinaldi (Time Out Shanghai), Morgan Short (SmartShanghai) Camden Hague (Social Supply), and Patricia de Lamare Costa (Kick the Gong Around) who had to call on a representative of Sunshine Box to help them make their final decision and crown Simon Sunwoo as the much-deserving champion.
