Russell Howard, internationally renowned stand-up comedian and star of the BBC's award-winning Russell Howard's Good News is bringing his world tour to Shanghai. To quote our friends at Time Out London: 'Gags flow from him with the ease and majesty of the River Nile,' which as far as likening comedians to Egyptian rivers goes, is a pretty high accolade.
Starting in Dublin back in February and including a record breaking ten-night run at London's Royal Albert Hall in March, Russell Howard: Round the World is the Brit's biggest ever live tour and will visit the likes of Dubai, Montreal, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, Hong Kong, Stockholm, Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney before closing at the Brighton Dome on England's south coast on August 6.
Howard will be at Shanghai's Yihai Theatre in Jingan on Thursday 25 May, a show produced by Kung Fu Komedy, who last month hosted the China International Comedy Festival, and notably produced Eddie Izzard's Force Majeure Shanghai show back in February.

An energetic, enthusiastic performer whose jokes range from satirical to observational to downright absurd, Howard has many impressive TV credits to his name including Mock the Week (BBC), Live at the Apollo (BBC) and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (NBC), along with starring in/hosting his own shows such as Russell Howard's Good News (BBC), Russell Howard's Stand Up Central (Comedy Central) and Russell Howard and Mum: USA Road Trip (Comedy Central).
Russel Howard: Round the World Shanghai Art Theatre. 466 Jiangning Lu. May 25. 7pm. 480RMB.
