It's gorgeous this weekend, isn't it? You've probably already got plans for al fresco this, al fresco that (and if you don't, you damn well should), but one for your radar is the Febria de Abril food and drink bash tomorrow 23 April from Spanish restaurant party animals elEfante. Presale tickets for the 12-hour courtyard blowout have already sold out (and 600 of them at that) so expect people-mountain-people-sea insanity rivalling last weekend at Found 158. Tickets will still be available tomorrow at the door for 380RMB, which includes ten food/drink tickets.
Everything kicks off at midday, with food booths lasting until 7pm and drinking, partying and general mischief until midnight. Summer – it's really almost here, guys.
Expect a ton of Spanish wines, beer and cocktails and food stalls turning out gazpacho, paella, roast suckling pig and other meats, vegetarian pita and of course, chorizo and all the Iberico ham. All of it.
DJ Caution of Love Bang during the day and DJ Keint of Bar Rouge at night will be amping the party vibes up to 11. Party of the season? Shanghai al fresco weather has only just begun, but this might be a strong contender.
elEfante 20 Donghu Lu. Apr 23. Midday-Midnight. 380RMB.
