Not sure what your October Golden Week plans are, but if you're an A$AP Mob fan here's a bit of incentive to stay in Shanghai (other than avoiding the 650 million people who'll be travelling at that time): A$AP Rocky is supposedly coming to town.
He's apparently hitting Shanghai as part of a big exhibition and live music event to promote Innersect, an app that wants to 'use fashion, art, science and music to influence the composition of culture' (and presumably make a bunch of money in the process). One of the company's first major moves toward achieving this aim is to get Edison Chen to present a three-day extravaganza at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre on the former Expo site in Pudong.
Chen is bringing in his rapper mates 4PK and Rich Chigga, a bunch of fashion brands, artists and tattooists including Dr Woo and Scott Campbell, plus American BMX rider Nigel Sylvester.
But A$AP Rocky is due to be the star attraction with the event marking the New York-born rapper, singer, producer, fashion muse and vape pen designer's first public performance in Shanghai. We're still waiting for independent confirmation from the organisers and there's no word of the show on the A$AP Mob website, but under a Weibo post that opens with the words 'A$AP Rocky really is coming!' Innersect imply that he'll be appearing as part of the 'hip-hop night' on the event's opening day.
