Not so long ago DADA's orientation was twisted 90 degrees to the left and there was a small record shop hidden at the rear of the club. But the transformations continue, and now they’ve knocked down a few walls and turned the space out back into a bare-walled bar called Ruin (not to be confused with Jingan dive My Place Ruin Bar).
The bar is accessed from the coat check area outside DADA, and there’s also a door between the bar and the club. It’s basically a high-ceilinged cellar with room to stand downstairs and some seating upstairs. They’re going for the post-industrial stripped-back thing, and whilst we dig the exposed brickwork, the bare drywall in places isn’t so hip.

There’s no music except the thudding bass from next door, and drinks-wise they’re slinging Chinese craft beers by the bottle, spritzes and organic wines, all at around the 50RMB mark.
Given there aren’t too many bar options nearby, it’s probably a smart move for DADA to open a little watering hole of their own. On first impressions it’s a cool quieter spot to chill before, during or after the club.
