Time Out Shanghai Family and the Bund Financial Centre are teaming up to host a two-day festival of music, dance, performances and interactive games. Falling on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September, the Big Day Out festival is set to be a top weekend, with loads of great activities and games the whole family can enjoy.

Theatre & Music
Little Player Theatre
Established in July 2015, the Little Player Theatre (also known as 小顽家亲子剧团) has produced and put on popular shows in the city which include The Three Little Pigs and Billy Goats Gruff. The company has also adapted productions from Poland, Denmark, France and England for Chinese audiences.
Jie Chen Music and Arts Academy
Founded by internationally renowned pianist and American Curtis Institute of Music graduate Jie Chen, programmes at the academy include piano classes and introductory performing arts sessions. The place for children with an interest in developing their musical and wider theatrical arts skills.
Sounds Great
Startup Sounds Great is committed to teaching children how to make their own music. With their own qualified music teachers and fully equipped recording facilities, Sounds Great provides classes for those under 12, those aged 12 to 18 and those over 18 years.
Kids
JJMAX Party & Events
JJMax will be providing families with a bouncy castle that kids can enjoy during the event.

A staple of Shanghai’s lifestyle scene, Goose Island Brewhouse will also be present at the festival, offering parents refreshing craft beer all throughout the weekend.

Popular restaurant Poke Poke will also be on hand with a tasty variety of poke bowls to keep families fuelled.

Zeta Villa
Originating in Hong Kong, beauty salon franchise Zeta Villa now has six branches in Shanghai. They'll be running demonstrations on how to make your own chocolate hand mask, as well as teaching participants how to practise pilates for healthier joints and shoulders.
