That man in the photo above might well drop a bit of the Ethiopian Elvis into his set at DADA this weekend. Yep. That's Ernesto Chahoud and he's bringing a few choice cuts from his ridiculously wide-ranging record collection to town.
But that's not all that's on offer this weekend, not by a long shot. There's a Do Hits tour, a psychedelic bomb scare bass duo, a Sunday afternoon house party at the W, and a Champagne pool party (as in, a pool party where they're serving Champagne, not a swimming pool full of Mumm – though that would be pretty Shanghai).

Ernesto Chahoud plays all-vinyl sets of Ethiopian funk, Middle Eastern garage rock, and rare punk, soul, and belly dance records from the lesser known corners of the world. A highly respected collector, he runs Beirut Groove Collective, Darsko Records, and recently headlined Boiler Room Beirut.

China Social Club are injecting some funk into Empire this Saturday. The Bund's new hot spot will have PCJ and Frau playing breaks, whistles, humour, disco, cowbells, deep beats and sing alongs from 8pm sharp.

Together with Patrick Bodmer, Jung has produced hits such as 'Body Language' (with Booka Shade) and made waves with M.A.N.D.Y's electrifying Fabric series.
