
This weekend is shaping up to be a cracker. While there are plenty of indoor activities you can enjoy in Shanghai, not to mention a whole host of bars to watch the Money Fight or the new season of the Premier League at, there are still plenty of reasons to get out and about this week. Sinjin Hawke + Zora Jones

Sinjin Hawke's experimental work with orchestral arrangements and choir manipulation has led to him collaborating with Kanye West, Frank Ocean and Just Blaze. Here, he's teaming up with intriguing producer Zora Jones for a full-on audiovisual assault on your senses.

Dash Berlin

In case you missed him a few weeks ago at the Top 100 DJs Festival, EDM heavyweight Dash Berlin is back in Shanghai once more – this time at Linx.

STIR

Misloop's STIR night returns to Elevator, dedicated to exploring the darker side of techno and 'boundary-blurring dancefloor openness'.

Summer Sonic Shanghai

Major Japanese music festival Summer Sonic is set to launch a Shanghai spin-off event this summer. A fully-fledged Summer Sonic Shanghai has long been rumoured, but this is the first time they're attempting to do a proper festival in the city.

Roxie Two Year Anniversary Party

Check out drag and burlesque performances plus other surprises for Roxie's birthday.

Goose Island BooshKaBaash festival

Community festival BooshKaBaash returns for its ninth year with the tagline ‘music for everyone’. Expect free live music from an eclectic mix of local and international bands and artists ranging from rock to reggae to soul funk. There will also be a market with the likes of Goose Island on hand with a range of craft beers, food from Taco Bell and more.

DADA's Eighth Birthday

DADA hits the ripe old age of eight with all sorts of fun down on Xingfu Lu. Andrew Bull and DJ El Toro are among those rumoured to be making an appearance on the decks.

Dos Attack

Smash welcomes Carlos from Madrid’s Dos Attack for an eclectic night of music that could only come from a record shop boss. Carlos’ style is hyperactive, jumping through different music styles regardless or origin or genre, but always maintaining his roots firmly in club music.

Skellism

Having picked up endorsements from the likes of DJ Snake and The Chainsmokers, Skellism hit town for a night of bass-heavy music at Arkham. Here's how promoters SHFT put it: 'Club owners run when they hear his name, headbangers squirm when they hear his sound, ladies and gents please welcome out the Dubstep sensation that's caused more riots than Rodney King, Skellism.'

SUNDAY 13
The Money Fight: Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather

A spectacle fight like no other, the king of the UFC steps into the realm of the best boxer in a generation. A lot is at stake here – McGregor can cement an unrivalled legacy in combat sports while Floyd could surpass Rocky Marciano's 49-0 undefeated record with a 50th win here. Add in the furore around the press tour and you have a fight not to be missed. The PPV starts at 9am, with the main event expected shortly after 11am (depending on undercard fight durations).

Chinese ink painting workshop at GoEast Language Center

GoEast Language Center hosts free Chinese ink painting workshops for people of all ages. Attendees will get to learn basic ink painting techniques as well as the philosophy which advise the art form.

Math Bass

Eighteen pieces of Los Angeles-based artist Math Bass are on display at the Yuz Museum, with her recent paintings and sculptures illustrating a visual space with unique symbols and colours.

Baby Driver

A getaway driver with dreams of going straight, Baby needs music to drown out the tinnitus-induced buzz in his head. Unlike the more violent and existential vehicular visions seen in Drive or Bullitt, Baby Driver is sweet fantasy.
