PRAYER FOR MARRIAGES AND FAMILIES
Joshua 24:15 (NIV)
15But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
Genesis 2:20–24 (NIV)
20So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. 21So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. 22Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. 23The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” 24That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
Hebrews 13:4 (NIV)
4Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.
· Spend significant time in worship and listen to hear from God. Write down any prayer requests that the Holy Spirit gives you and pray them in addition to the following prayer requests below.
· Pray that God will preserve the families which is the building block of any society from any attack of the enemy.
· Pray that our families will serve the Lord.
· Pray for the institution of marriage will be maintained as God originally made it to be.
· Pray that every single who is of age and desires to get married will locate their spouse. Pray that they will have the grace, wisdom, and resources to take steps towards marriage.
· Pray that holiness will be the watchword for married couples as they keep their matrimonial bed undefiled. Pray also for single adults that holiness shall be their watchword they wait on God.
· Pray that couples shall fall more in love with each other as they put Jesus at the center of their marriage.
