EMPOWERMENT
Acts 2:5-6 NCV
“There were some religious Jews staying in Jerusalem who were from every country in the world. When they heard this noise, a crowd came together. They were all surprised, because each one heard them speaking in his own language.”
The events surrounding Pentecost as recorded in Acts 2 are very remarkable and remain among the most dramatic and life transforming in the history of the church. Imagine the sound, the sight, the sermon, and the souls that were harvested for the Kingdom in a single day. What a spectacle!
Don’t forget the setting.
Pentecost was a feast meant to celebrate harvest and God in His divine wisdom had ordained that 3000 souls would be harvested for His Kingdom on that day. Wow!
Consider the diversity as well.
The Scripture above shows us that they were people from all over the world who had converged in Jerusalem for the feast. What a perfect setting!
The 3000 became additional witnesses to the power of the gospel and of the Holy Spirit back in their nations. What a global impact!
Now imagine our setting here in Beijing. How many nationalities are represented here in this city? Imagine if we the believers here in Beijing all received the empowerment which the early Apostles received and dared to operate from the overflow ... how many nations can we touch and influence here in Beijing? Imagine if we could be relevant to all those around us and be able to speak their language as well (appeal to them). I believe It’s possible.
This is our year of favor. Come ready to be empowered. There is more we can do, and God has strategically placed us here at such a time as this for a purpose.
We have a rare opportunity of touching so many nationalities here in Beijing. Our impact can reach far and wide. We are world changers!
