THOUGHTS FROM THE PASTOR
From Ashes To Beauty.
Ruth 1:16-17,
16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: 17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.
The book of Ruth is a beautiful examples of loyalty, friendship and commitment to God and to each other.
The book that started with famine and death is now concluding with Joy and freshness.
It started with failure and waste, but we see God bringing out of the fall of Elimelech, like the fall of every sinner, the instrument of His glory for redemption of mankind.
Even Ruth might think that her life was over because of her husband death and a bad picture of the future presented by Naomi, Ruth might just be picking food in others farm yard to make ends meet.
Yet God has a kinsman redeemer in the person of Boaz to redeem her from all setbacks.
The sorrow of widowhood was taken away from Ruth.
We have our own redeemer in Jesus Christ Who though He was God, came to earth as a Man in order to save and redeem us.
Ruth by descent was not to be identified with the people of God but she became a choice woman in the lineage of The Saviour because of her decision to follow The God of Naomi.
She was unaware of this larger purpose in her life, and we sometimes don't know the full purpose and importance of our lives until we are able to look back from the perspective of eternity.
We must make choices with God's eternal values in mind.
We should live in faithfulness to God, knowing that the significance of our lives will extend beyond our life time.

SUNDAY SERVICE REMINDER
This Sunday we will be continuing our series titled, WOMEN OF EXPLOITS (SERIES ON WOMEN WHO WERE USED MIGHTILY BY GOD FOR EXPLOIT). we will be looking at some amazing God fearing women who did great things for God, and through God to increase his kingdom and show him Glory. Come this coming Sunday to learn about what these Great women have done.
This Sunday we will be looking at the life of Ruth. The story of Ruth is an interesting one. Ruth is one of two female characters in the bible to have a Book in the old testament named after. She went from losing everything had to becoming the Great Grandmother of King David.
Matthew 1:5-6
Salmon was the father of Boaz (whose mother was Rahab).
Boaz was the father of Obed (whose mother was Ruth).
Obed was the father of Jesse.
Jesse was the father of King David.
David was the father of Solomon (whose mother was Bathsheba, the widow of Uriah).
This lineage led to Jesus our Kinsman Redeemer.
This Sunday's message is titled FROM ASHES TO BEAUTY
Come this Sunday and see how God used Ruth for greatness.
