THOuGHTS FROM THE PASTOR
Few Sundays ago, we looked at the Goodness of God and how He has lavished His love upon us. God has been teaching me a lot about His love for me. I have three little kids namely David, Daniel and Deborah and I love them dearly. My love for them cannot be compared to God’s Love for us. God has been teaching me on how much more His love for His children is. The bible says in 1 John 3:1 “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” He didn’t just sprinkle his love rather he showered us with His love in unlimited measure. This is extravagant love! Paul in Ephesians 1:3-14 expanded on this extravagant love of God to His children as shown below:
• Blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. vs3
• Chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. vs4
• Predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will. vs5
• Accepted us in the beloved. vs6
• Redeemed us through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace. vs7
• Abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence. vs8
• Made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ. vs9
• Given us an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. vs11,12
• Sealed us with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. vs13,14
What should be our response? We should praise Him as Paul declared in verse 3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ”. I pray that in this 2018, Our Year to do Exploit, you will experience the overflow of God’s Love and Anointing. I pray that God will give you the “strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen” Ephesians 3:18-21.
