THOUGHTS FROM THE PASTOR
THE HANDWRITING ON THE WALL
Daniel 5:24-25 (NKJV)
24 Then the fingers of the hand were sent from Him, and this writing was written. 25 “And this is the inscription that was written:
MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UHPARSIN
It is from this story that we get the English idiom “The handwriting on the wall” or the “The writing on the wall”. It means “some misfortune is impending”. These are three simple Aramaic words with the first repeated twice and UH meaning ‘AND’. Daniel gave the interpretation of this writing in verses 26-27: “This is the interpretation of each word. Mene: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it; Tekel: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting; Peres: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.”
What is the handwriting on the wall in our generation? I believe that it is this: JESUS IS COMING SOON. Jesus said it in Revelation 22:12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to everyone according to his work.” What are you doing about this? Jesus is coming solution and He is the only source for eternal life. He is the way, truth and life and no one come to the Father except through Him. He is the access code to heaven. How are you living your life? Are you living your life with eternity in view? I pray that God will help us to be heavenly conscious and live our lives with eternity in view.

SUNDAY SERVICE REMINDER

This Sunday we will continue our journey in our series, EXPLOITS IN A FOREIGN LAND as we look at the Book of Daniel. This weeks sermon is titled HANDWRITING ON THE WALL.
In Daniel 5 we see during a banquet God writing a message on the wall. MENE, MENE, TEKEL, PARSIN. Daniel explained that the Days of the Kingdom of Babylon have been weighed and numbered and that the Kingdom would be divided. The Medes and Persians would soon rule the kingdom. He warned King Belshazzar to be ready for this transition.
What has God written on your wall? What does it say? What is God warning you of?
Come this Sunday to learn what it is God wants to say to you. Come with an open heart that is ready to encounter God.
