LIVE A LIFE OF OPEN HANDS.
Prov.19:17,
He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, And He will pay back what he has given.
Deu.15:11,
For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.’
It has been said that : "Surplus wealth is a divine trust that should be used for the benefit of others". Through out the bible, the interest of the poor and the needy has been at The Heart of God. Proclaiming the good news to the poor and compassion for the poor was at the forefront of Jesus earthly ministry. When we have a right relationship with God, we have that same compassion for the poor that motivates us to give them practical help.
The early church lived with open hands, from their open hands they could help the poor and the needy, and God could put also more resources in their open hands.
A closed hands can neither enjoy the blessings of giving to others, nor receive blessings from the loving God.
