PRAYER FOR CHILDREN
Matthew 19:13–15 (NIV)
13Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. 14Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” 15When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.
Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)
6Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.
Ephesians 6:1–4 (NIV)
1Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—3“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” 4Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Luke 2:52 (NIV)
52And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
· Spend significant time in worship and listen to hear from God. Write down any prayer requests that the Holy Spirit gives you and pray them in addition to the following prayer requests below.
· Pray for all the children whom you know and declare God’s blessings upon them as Jesus did. Pray for them by names and if you can lay hands on them, do lay hands on them and bless them.
· Pray that our families will create a Godly environment to enable our children know God, love God and serve God from an early age.
· Pray for our children that as they grow, they will continue in their walk with God as taught by their parents. Pray that their faith is Jesus will become personal to them and not just that they are following the faith of their parents.
· Pray that our children will learn to always obey their parents in the Lord and continue to honor them even when they are old.
· Pray that parents and especially parents of teenagers will be patient with their children as they instruct them in the ways of the Lord.
· Pray that our teenagers and pre-teens will not succumb to peer pressure and make wrong choices. Pray that God will grant them wisdom and internal resolve to remain faithful to Him.
· Pray that our children will grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
