In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf.
月光下，一个小小的卵躺在叶子上。

One Sunday morning the warm sun came up and -- pop!
-- out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar.
周末的清晨，温暖的太阳升起了。
砰！一只又小又饿的毛毛虫从卵里钻出来了。

He started to look for some food.
他开始寻找食物。

On Monday he ate through one apple，
but he was still hungry.
周一，它吃了一个苹果，但还是很饿。

On Tuesday he ate through two pears，
but he was still hungry.
周二，它吃了两个梨子，但还是很饿。

On Wednesday he ate through three plums，
but he was still hungry.
周三，它吃了三颗李子，但还是很饿。

On Thursday he ate through four strawberries，
but he was still hungry.

That night he had a stomachache！
一个棒棒糖,一个馅饼,一个香肠,一个蛋糕,一片西瓜。
到了晚上，他开始肚子疼！

The next day was Sunday again.
The caterpillar ate through one nice green leaf，
and after that he felt much better.
第二天又是周末了。这只毛毛虫吃了一片新鲜的叶子，感觉好多了。

Now he wasn’t hungry any more --
and he wasn’t a little caterpillar any more.
He was a big, fat caterpillar.
现在它终于不饿了——而且它也不再是一只小毛毛虫。
它成了一只大大的、胖胖的毛毛虫。

He built a small house called a cocoon，
around himself.
He stayed inside for more than two weeks.
Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon，
pushed his way out and…
它在自己周围建造了一个小房子，叫做茧，在里面待了超过两周。
然后它把茧咬出一个洞，钻了出来，然后…

he was a beautiful butterfly！
它成了一只美丽的蝴蝶！
