All disclosures of an Exploration Targetmust clarify whether the target is based on actual Exploration Results or onproposed exploration programmes. Where the Exploration Target statementincludes information relating to ranges of tonnages and grades these must berepresented as approximations. The explanatory text must include a descriptionof the process used to determine the grade and tonnage ranges used to describethe Exploration Target.

For an Exploration Target based onExploration Results, a summary of the relevant exploration data available andthe nature of the results should also be stated, including a disclosure of the
current drill hole or sampling spacing andrelevant plans or sections. In any subsequent upgraded or modified statementson the Exploration Target, the Competent Person should discuss any materialchanges to potential scale or quality arising from completed exploration activities.

Exploration Results include data andinformation generated by mineral exploration programmes that might be of use toinvestors but which do not form part of a declaration of Mineral Resources orOre Reserves.

The reporting of such information is commonin the early stages of exploration when the quantity of data available isgenerally not sufficient to allow any reasonable estimates of MineralResources.

Public Reports of Exploration Results mustcontain sufficient information to allow a considered and balanced judgement oftheir significance. Reports must include relevant information such asexploration context, type and method of sampling, relevant sample intervals andlocations, distribution, dimensions and relative location of all relevant assaydata, methods of analysis, data aggregation methods, land tenure status plusinformation on any of the other criteria listed in Table 1 that are material toan assessment.

Public Reports of Exploration Results mustnot be presented so as to unreasonably imply that potentially economicmineralisation has been discovered. If true widths of mineralisation are notreported, an appropriate qualification must be included in the Public Report.

Where assay and analytical results arereported, they must be reported using one of the following methods, selected asthe most appropriate by the Competent Person:

While it is not necessary to report allassays or drill holes, it is a requirement that sufficient information aboutthe omitted data is provided so that a considered and balanced judgement can bemade by the reader of the report. Where reports of Exploration Results do notinclude all drill holes or all intersections of drill holes the CompetentPerson must provide an explanation of why this information is not consideredrelevant or why it has not been provided.

As required under Clauses 4 and 5, theCompetent Person must not ‘remain silent on any issue for which the presence orabsence of comment could impact the public perception or value of the mineraloccurrence’. For significant projects the reporting of all criteria in sections1 and 2 of Table 1 on an ‘if not, why not basis’ is required, preferably as anappendix to the Public Report. Additional disclosure is particularly importantwhere inadequate or uncertain data affect the reliability of, or confidence in,a statement of Exploration Results; for example, poor sample recovery, poorrepeatability of assay or laboratory results, etc.
