In the morning of March 30th, 2015, Beijing Suntrans Language Translation Co., Ltd assisted the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda and China's Association of Small & Medium Enterprises in holding the Uganda-China Business Forum in the Fanghuayuan Hall of the Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing, capital of China. Dr. Lu Guo and skilled interpreters of Suntrans team attended the forum at which General Yoweri•Kaguta•Museveni, President of Uganda delivered a significant speech. Through one month of promotion efforts, Suntrans company aided the Ugandan Embassy in inviting a couple of client enterprises from the domestic mining sector including state-owned enterprises especially central government controlled corporations. Private mining firms and many other major resource exploration companies are also attracted to invest in Uganda. This is the sencond time Suntrans Co has ever won the honor to cooperate with the Ugandan Embassy in organizing a major industrial conference after helping hold the Experience Exchanging Forum of Mining Investment 2014 in Beijing Xijiao Hotel on December 21st last year.

  The theme of the Uganda-China Business Forum is "fostering Uganda-China economic and trade cooperation, and encouraging small and medium sized Chinese enterprises to invest in Uganda". General Yoweri•Kaguta•Museveni, the Ugandan President, Charles•Madibo•Wagidoso, Uganda's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to China and ministers of Uganda's finance, foreign affairs, denfence, transportation, energy and mining, and housing management departments, as well as, Jiang Mining, Chairman of the China General Chamber of Commerce, Song Jie, Vice Chairman of the Association of Small & Medium Enterprises and nearly a thousand of members from the two associations attended the forum.

At the forum, representives of Uganda's Association of Manufacturers, Chamber of Mining and Petroleum, Chamber of International Trade and the Department of Oil Mining delivered introductions on Uganda's business overview, strategic mineral resources as well as oil and gas resources in East Africa. Located in the center of sub-Saharan Africa, Uganda has a territory of 241,039 square kilometers of which 43,942 square kilometers are covered by freshwater marsh.  Uganda strategically set itself as a nation with abundant resources and huge market potentials which are the most important to promote economic development in east and central Africa.

  Back up to August 2013, Suntrans company has gone to Uganda with a major Chinese business delegation to help in the negotiation to finalize the largest copper mine acquisition between the two countries. Uganda's high-ranking officials who have been involed in the the negotiation included the Vice Finance Minister, Vice Energy and Mining Minister, Spokesman for President, Deputy Minister of the Privatization and Utilization Department, and President's designated lawyer.

  China and Uganda maintains profound friendship and good momentum in developing bilateral ties, Ugandan President Museveni said at the forum, Uganda 's  government authorities at all levels alway welcome Chinese investors and appreciates trust and support from China.

The Uganda-China Business Forum is held in the Diaoyutai State Guest House,  an important hotel in which China ' s state leaders often handle foreign affairs and receive heads of state and VIP guests from abroad. It is located in the middle of a group of buildings with mixed features of ancient gardens and modern constructions. Since its establishment in 1959, Diaoyutai State Guest House has received presidents, kings and prime ministers from countries all over the world for nearly 1,000 times. It is renowned by global people and media agencies.

  On March 1st, 2015, Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The two heads of state spoke highly of the friendship and cooperation between China and Uganda. They pledged to seize the precious opportunity and follow the momentum to maximize the synergy of each other's development strategy, so as to develop China-Uganda relation into a modern international partnership featuring equality, mutual trust and win-win cooperation.

  Xi applauded that the deep friendship and fruitful cooperation between China and Uganda has brought a lot of actual benefits for people living in both countries since the establishment of diplomatic ties 53 years ago. He called Uganda President Yoweri Museveni an old friend of Chinese people and a strong pusher for bilateral ties development. Two years ago, Chinese leaders and Ugandan officials has already reached important consensus on the comprehensive development of China-Uganda relations during the fifth Brics summit in Durban, South Africa. China is ready to work with Uganda to implement the consensus, deepen cooperation and contribute new impetus to further the development of bilateral relations.

  President Xi emphasized that, China and Uganda should facilitate  communication channels between each other's central governments, political parties, legislative bodies, troops and local authorities, in order to share experience on state governance and maintain mutual support on issues concerning each other's core interests. To further promote bilateral cooperation in the industrial sector, China is willing to share with Uganda the experiences in developing special economic zones and industrial parks, President Xi Jinping said, calling on the two sides to join efforts in infrastructure building, financial investment, health care and tourism development. China encourages and supports domestic enterprises to invest in Uganda's energy, mining, industrial and agricultural sector, he said. To Enhance cultural exchange and forward the communication between young generations from the two countries is also suggested during the meeting. Meanwhile, Xi vowed to strengthen communication and coordination in major international and regional affairs and called for close defense cooperation to jointly combat terrorism and guard global peace and stability.

  Yoweri Museveni expressed appreciation for the strong support from Chinese people during Africa's campaign against colonialism and struggle for nationindependence. Tazara Railway, the traffic trunk running throughout east Africa built under China's aid, helped African people broke the transportation lock by western countries. African countries suffered three historical threatens including colonial oppression, economic underdevelopment as well as political and economic differentiation. Today, to achieve development, African countries must build a regional community and unified market and they are now on the way to carry out such strategy.  In this process, Uganda and other African countries expect to keep up with the space of China's development strategy and external cooperation policies. Uganda enterprises are ready to work with Chinese investors to strengthen cooperation in hydropower production, standard gauge railway construction, oil and minerals exploitation, tourism expansion as well as industrial parks development and anticipate support from the Chinese government. Bilateral cultural exchanges are deeply expected, Yoweri Museveni said, as African people welcome China as a trust worthy friend. He also expressed Uganda's willingness to deepen collaboration with China in terms of international affairs.

  After the talks, the two leaders witnessed the official signing of specific cooperation documents in economics and technology development, infrastructure construction, personnel training and etc.

  Before the meeting, President Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan held a weclome ceremory for Yoweri Museveni at the Great Hall of People in Beijing. Major high ranking Chinese officials attended the ceremony includes Wang Huning, a Central Committee member for the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Director of the Central Policy Research Office of the CPC Central Committee,  Li Zhanshu, a Central Committee member and Director of the Central Committee and Central Office,  Ericore·Yiming Bahai, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) , Yang Jiechi, State Councilor and Liu Xiaofeng, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

  Before the ceremony, Yoweri Museveni went to hail the Monument to the People's Heroes with a wreath at the Tian'anmen Square in the center of Beijing.
