The Principe collection is composed of heterogeneous elements that in their very uniqueness find details that bind them deeply together.

Every domestic environment is present. From the living room to the bedroom, from the dining room to the walk-in wardrobe: the furnishings relate to the interior architecture and become the leitmotif of a story that addresses design from the spoon to the city.

The journey finds its culmination and its highest expression in the East, where the Made in Italy product is enriched and merges with the decorative and historically rich culture, standing halfway between timeless elegance and contemporary style.

The new luxury is feeling at home in a delightful balance of materials, shapes and colours, in which walnut wood is the key player, even when it does not appear in its naked essence. Sentiment without sentimentalism, elegance without ostentation. The exclusive beauty of the Principe collection offers the chance for an authentic, original, uniquely personal take on contemporary lifestyles; here, beauty takes away in order to add, shaping atmospheres in which every piece of furniture interacts spontaneously with the spirit of the setting, creating a unique, distinctive atmosphere every time. Timeless wood reveals its contemporary soul as it meets metals, leather and fabrics. No detail is left to chance – and each detail encompasses and reveals the whole. Thus, even the flashiest, most apparently discordant element is never a contradiction, but instead a new approach to a rigorous, essential harmony.

The collection also lends itself to customisable interventions with colour, making it interpretable in different contexts. A large variety of finishes is available, allowing for the creation of settings in which a distinct concept of elegance is teamed with a different, uniquely personal touch every time.

“With regard to the Principe collection”, comments Marco Piva, “I feel it’s important to highlight a concept that is less obvious than it may sound, and that I believe is regaining a role of key importance. Interior design is essentially about feeling good in our surroundings, and all the more so if those surroundings have the intimate, emotional value of a home. Along with Arte Brotto, I decided to design and create a collection using this seemingly obvious concept as the foundation for finely crafted furniture, in which wood is much more than a top-quality raw material, providing the very inspiration for this new idea of elegance that Principe offers: new, yet ancient, indeed timeless. A return to soft, gentle lines, shapes and combinations of materials, in which we have chosen leather, fabrics, metals and crystal to engage in a stylish interplay with wood. Embodied throughout the collection is a cosmopolitan approach that brings on board all the experience Arte Brotto and I have acquired on our journeys.”

The designs of the new floors designed by Marco Piva for Foglie D'oro draw inspiration from the contemporary trend that sees a renewed desire for contact with nature and the earth, with light and natural colours that bring us back to the essence of the Planet and shapes that recall its organic elements.

The patterns that emerge from the compositions designed by Marco Piva on the one hand evoke the movements and shapes of nature, specifically of the product's main material, wood, with its ribbing and peculiarities, giving life to motifs with a light, almost organic decorative impact, and on the other work on geometries, on the importance of lines, emphasising instead the intervention of man who, in harmony with nature, gives a more architectural rhythm to the compositions.

Each texture gives life to different compositional possibilities, which in turn can be interpreted with material or chromatic contrasts, contaminations that give back an articulated surface, marked by elements that make it sophisticated and suggestive.

Marco Piva’s international experience and his aptitude for travel and exploration – his anthropological vision of living spaces – is the source that inspires this collection, which springs forth spontaneously, yet is designed with consummate skill, offering a chance to rediscover the creativity implicit in natural shapes by turning them into a design experience. The six different types of flooring are able to bring on board a variety of influences, while remaining distinctly recognisable and maintaining their identity.

The floors are made from only the finest woods, which have no secrets for Foglie d’Oro, thanks to the complete control exercised over the production chain, from the choice of the material directly at the source – responsibly, sustainably managed European forests, with privately-owned sawmills – through to installation. The company boasts a technical team of impressive experience and a 100% in-house production system, with an unrivalled amount and quality of wood at their disposal.

The grain and the distinctive features of the wood provide the inspiration for patterns with a clearly recognisable decorative impact. Eco, Ritma, Zago, Unda, Alveo, Regolo: each module has its own distinctive charm, in which nature and design combine to offer a variety of layout options, each of which can be enhanced with material or colour contrasts to create surfaces that take on a sophisticated allure thanks to the inserts available, which can be chosen both with different wood finishes and with metal or marble features, creating original combinations suitable for a range of diverse living styles.

The Walnut and Oak wood are enhanced by the architectural intuition that allows Marco Piva to visualise a complex, complete setting in a single, simple element. Thanks to a wide range of colour customisation options and the way the wood engages with other exquisite materials, Elementa floors can be viewed as elements making up an organism open to virtually endless creative possibilities.

Ritma is a succession of rhythmically composed shapes that create an orderly pattern with an elegant pace. The Ritma module is composed of two elements that combine and engage to enhance the features of the surface, creating a smooth, seamless visual effect shaped by the original colour effects.

A vibrant, dynamic surface, reminiscent of an engraved bas-relief, that highlights the material essence of a wood of lasting quality. Ritma brings a distinctive allure to the floor thanks to the subtle interplay of extraordinarily natural relief effects, reminiscent of the shifting sands of dunes caressed by the breeze, with a constant, rhythmic movement.

Regolo is the Italian for ruler, the instrument with a square or rectangular section, made from wood or metal, that we use to draw straight lines. Inspired by the use of the ruler to compose a structure, this is a flooring solution with a regular pattern, as the name suggests. The simple, linear Regolo module can be used to create a wide range of textures using the eight different wood finishes and enhancing them with a variety of inserts. The result is a floor with a clear, distinctive geometric pattern of simple lines, able to bring a stylish, contemporary touch to any living space.

Zago is all about an intermittent pace, sudden turns and changes of direction. A movement that takes one direction, then another, forming a zigzag pattern. This decorative motif features attractive, jagged lines, with a variable succession of shapes resembling a close pattern of broadly z-shaped letters: Zago. A single element that brings a varied, versatile character to the various layouts that can be created. The floor thus becomes a picture that recalls one of the most primitive, widespread decorations in human culture, bringing an original approach and design to the setting.

Unda is the graceful, fluctuating movement of a wave. A cyclical, rising and falling pattern, varying in pace. Variants on a theme that is an invitation to follow the rhythm of the movement created. Variants that bring a vibrant allure to the floor beneath our feet, with a rhythm reminiscent of the waves that ripple across the sea. The Unda module, formed by as single shape of strips of the finest Walnut or Oak wood, in different sizes, offers the possibility to create a variety of elegant, flowing laying patterns, for floors with a naturally sophisticated look, featuring graceful lines that enhance the beauty of the wood.

Eco is all about opening up, engaging with the exterior, from a single viewpoint towards a wider, more encompassing perspective. The repetition of an element, of a particular je ne sais quoi that multiplies into a distinctive hallmark. The amplification of a theme, a voice that resonates and vibrates through space, building to a choral expression. The multi-faceted allure of natural phenomena has inspired and shaped the Eco module, and indeed it is the verb “to echo” that introduces the module, referring to a variable repetition of elements, in which rectangular and semicircular elements alternate to bring a dynamic touch to surfaces. The result is a visually striking, attractively arranged surface that is a celebration of the textures of Walnut and Oak wood, in the various finishes available. The flooring thus creates a smooth rhythm, with a subtle yet distinctive pattern, that resonates throughout the setting

Alveo offers simple methods for creating elegant solutions nature is extraordinarily able to shape, starting out from a single cell. Geometric patterns based on the number six are particularly widespread in nature, found in hives, rocks, the skeletons of aquatic organisms and the eyes of insects. This is because hexagons are the most efficient structures to balance surfaces and equivalent volumes. In nature, nothing is wasted.

The Alveo module celebrates the beauty of natural structures, with the repetition of hexagonal elements – which can be alternated with inserts in a variety of materials of different kinds – coming together to create a floor made of noble wood, in a sophisticated composition.
