Rwandans and Friends of Rwanda in China Celebrated 30th Liberation Day
2024年7月19日，中国政府官员、外交使节、国际组织代表和在华卢旺达朋友们一起，在卢旺达驻华大使馆共同庆祝卢旺达解放30周年(Kwibohora30)。
On July 19, 2024, the Embassy was joined by officials from the Government of China, diplomatic envoys, representatives of international organizations and friends of Rwanda in China to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Liberation (Kwibohora30).
詹姆斯·基莫尼奥大使在活动上发表讲话时表示，纪念解放日是为了缅怀那些为了解放卢旺达并为此付出生命的英雄们。并且强调卢旺达在过去三十年中取得的成就是卢旺达人民以及保罗·卡加梅总统远见卓识的领导共同努力的结果。
Speaking at the event, Ambassador James Kimonyo said that liberation day is a day to remember those who liberated the country and those who sacrificed their lives for the cause. The envoy highlighted that what Rwanda has achieved in the last three decades has been a joint effort of Rwanda’s people and their visionary leadership led by H.E. President Paul Kagame.
大使表示，“1994年7月4日，在保罗·卡加梅阁下的带领下，由卢旺达英雄儿女组成的卢旺达爱国军终结了种族灭绝政权的统治。这一政权的统治致使卢旺达深陷种族分裂，并最终导致1994年针对图西族人民的种族灭绝，使超过一百万无辜的卢旺达人失去了生命。因此这一胜利成为了今天建立卢旺达的坚实基础。”
“On July 4, 1994, the brave men and women of the RPA, led by His Excellency Paul Kagame, brought an end to the reign of the genocidal regime that had deepened ethnic divisions and hatred, culminating in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, during which more than one million innocent lives were lost. This victory laid the strong foundation upon which today’s Rwanda is built,” the Ambassador remarked.
对我们而言，Kwibohora 30，庆祝卢旺达解放日30周年，是一个回顾卢旺达从一穷二白到取得非凡成就的机会。基莫尼奥大使补充道, 卢旺达的进步反映在许多发展指数中。
Kwibohora30 to us serves as an opportunity to look back on Rwanda’s progress which has been nothing but remarkable, Kimonyo noted adding that the progress made is reflected in many socio-economic development indices.
本次庆祝活动特邀嘉宾、中国外交部非洲之角事务特使薛冰大使对卢旺达解放后30年的转变发展表示赞赏，希望中卢两国继续相互支持与合作。
The guest of honor, Ambassador Xue Bing, Special Envoy for Horn of Africa Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, commended Rwanda's transformation in the thirty years since liberation and pleaded continued support and cooperation between China and Rwanda.
薛冰大使表示：“卢旺达是中东部非洲具有重要影响的国家。近年来，在卡加梅总统领导下，卢旺达政府和人民团结并肩，走出历史阴霾，实现民族和解，探索出一条适合本国国情的发展道路，成功保持国家稳定和社会和谐，经济快速增长，发展成就有目共睹。“
“Rwanda is a country with important influence in central and eastern Africa. In recent years, under the leadership of President Kagame, the government and people of Rwanda have worked side by side to overcome the shadow of history, achieve national reconciliation, explore a development path suited to its national conditions and successfully maintain national stability and social harmony, with rapid economic growth and remarkable development achievements,” Ambassador Bing noted.
并借此机会祝贺卢旺达在和平友好的选举环境中成功地举行了总统和议会的选举。“祝贺卢旺达，衷心祝愿卢旺达在发展复兴的道路上不断取得成功和进步。”
He took the opportunity to express gratitude to Rwanda for successfully conducting the Presidential and Parliamentary elections in peaceful electoral environment. "Congratulations to Rwanda and we sincerely wish Rwanda continued success and further progress on its path of development and rejuvenation."
庆祝活动以短视频、音乐和舞蹈为特色，让人们更多地了解了卢旺达解放斗争的历史，并为卢旺达人提供了一个去反思以后征程如何继续的契机。
The celebrations featured engaging short videos, music, and dances, allowing others to discover the history of our liberation struggle and providing Rwandans with an opportunity to reflect on our journey that continues.
