2024年11月27日，欧洲詠春总会EWTO(Europe Wing Tsun Organization)宣布，其创始人兼主席、咏春拳宗师叶问封门弟子梁挺的德国弟子、“欧洲詠春之父”简基富（Keith R. Kernspecht）已于当地时间11月25日去世。

简基富，原名基思·R·科恩斯佩希特（Keith R. Kernspecht）于1976年在德国成立的欧洲詠春总会EWTO(Europe Wing Tsun Organization)，是德国乃至欧洲最有有影响力的詠春机构之一。作为欧洲人口和经济第一大国，詠春拳在德国生根发芽已四十余年，EWTO在欧洲拥有超过6000家拳馆，学员达到100万人，真正将詠春传播进入大众生活，简基富因而也被称为“欧洲詠春之父”。
今年7月，为推进首届世界南少林詠春拳大赛欧洲赛区选拔，中国国家级非物质文化遗产詠春拳代表性传承人、福建省詠春拳协会会长郑祖杰率队开启了为期一个月的欧洲咏春巡回交流之旅。

一行人抵达简基富的家乡德国基尔，实地拜访并与其围绕中欧詠春根脉展开武学、跨文化交流、体育竞技等主题的深度交流，简基富谈到，“詠春不只在于形，而在于心，詠春正在欧洲得到更多人的了解与尊重，如果想要真正推动詠春，中欧合作势在必行。”
正是因此阔别数年的会面，与真诚的跨文化交流，得以让詠春在新的时代成为欧亚大陆的链接。此前，真实影像联合中国传媒大学教授、电影《姜子牙》总制片人高薇华领衔的国内最顶尖动画团队之一，共同启动了《詠春》主题纪录电影项目，与詠春拳第八代传人、中国国家级非遗咏春拳代表性传承人团队一路，观察其赴全球尤其欧洲和美国，与全世界修习詠春的代表人物们，一起推动全球詠春大赛为起点，希望打开中国动画纪录片的先河，也希望与世界共享一个开放包容的中国文化遗产。

在此行中，赛区的顺利推进与珍贵的交流纪录离不开简基富大师与EWTO一路的支持。行前，詠春拳第九代弟子Michael因为常驻慕尼黑，作为中德间的联系人，在Facebook上找到简基富后，便建立了联系。“当时觉得他非常和蔼，一点架子也没有，之后就电话联系了下，再跑去汉堡和他见的第一面。”
8月底，首届世界南少林詠春拳大赛总决赛在福建省福清南少林寺落下帷幕，简基富没能到达现场，便联系约定年底来到中国交流。他答应下来年底国内媒体的采访，也安排好了到时一定来北京的拳馆授课，年初可以一起过年，之后再去福州。“之后我发消息给他确认最后时间，他没有回我。然后我再问他的女儿，他女儿说他重感冒，今年不能采访了，之后就收到这个噩耗。”Michael回忆道。“我最后悔的事情是10月底回国前没有再去拜访一下他。我觉得路途时间太长，而见面时间太短不值得，反正回北京会见的，谁知道这一别就是永远。”

“世界上少了一位受世人尊敬的大师。”是来自保加利亚的简基富徒弟Stanislav等许多与简大师相关的人听到这则信息的感受。
欧洲詠春拳联盟保加利亚部创始人斯坦尼斯拉夫•巴加列夫（Stanislav Bagalev）在此前的首届世界南少林詠春拳大赛总决赛“非遗传承与咏春拳国际合作交流会”中，以“我和咏春拳的故事”为题，讲述了他与简基富大师、与詠春拳的渊源，以及在詠春拳武术文化推广、发扬、传承过程中的故事。

“我的师父，来自德国的简基富（Keith R. Kernspecht），他从小学习摔跤、拳击、柔道和极真空手道，曾是一名警察和教师，但始终在寻找能够挑战自己的更多东西，寻找比他之前的知识和技能更好的东西。当他1968年在英国首次发现詠春时，他被其吸引和惊艳。由于难以找到关于该流派的全面信息，他踏上了全球旅行的无尽旅程，遇到了许多詠春的伟大宗师，以便将知识拼接成更全面的教学方法和体系。”
他向德国、奥地利、意大利和保加利亚的警察、军队和特种部队教授詠春。他的探索也带他来到保加利亚，我来自这里，在那里他与普罗夫迪夫大学建立了联系，我在1996年教授中国武术和詠春。
简基富意识到詠春必须迈向科学、研究和大学教育的新阶段。因此，他与Margaritov教授共同在体育系开设了一个专业，来自德国、奥地利、瑞士、意大利、西班牙、英国和保加利亚的学生开始学习。
除了出版大量书籍、期刊和文章外，简基富还撰写了詠春的科学研究和论文，成为教授、科学博士、索非亚国家体育学院的荣誉教授，并获得了荣誉博士学位。

Condolences on the Passing of Sifu - A Great Loss to the Martial Arts Community
Dear Natalia,
We are writing this letter to you with an extremely heavy heart. At this moment, we are all immersed in the grief of losing SiFu, Grand Master Prof. Dr. Keith R. Great woodpecker, and his passing is undoubtedly a huge loss to the entire martial arts community.
During the time when we had the privilege of getting in-depth contact with Sifu due to the documentary shooting, we deeply felt his unique charm and profound cultivation. Although we are not from the martial arts community, we could clearly perceive his outstanding status and far-reaching influence in the field of martial arts.
Sifu, as a highly respected martial arts master, was still full of energy even in his 80s, and his love and dedication to martial arts remained undiminished. His superb skills in martial arts techniques were truly amazing. Every movement and every gesture seemed to tell the legendary story of his life accompanied by martial arts.
He was not only highly skilled in martial arts himself but also enthusiastic about the inheritance and promotion of martial arts. Over the years, he has cultivated many excellent martial arts talents. These people, carrying the techniques and concepts taught by Sifu, continue to move forward on the path of martial arts, spreading the charm of martial arts to a wider range.
Now, with his passing, the martial arts community has lost an important leader, a master with both wisdom and skills. Those who were looking forward to learning more martial arts wisdom from him, and those who were eager to further improve their skills under his guidance, can only hold endless regrets.
We know that words seem so powerless at this moment, but we still want you to know that we are all mourning for Sifu's passing and we all understand how painful the loss to the martial arts community is. We still remember the scene of Sifu waving his hands and saying goodbye to us from his house's balcony when we visited him last time, which is engraved in our minds.
We hope that during this sad time, you can draw strength from the care of your relatives and friends and face it bravely.
