在读中国传媒大学学生，自2021年来到北京上学，目前就读专业为三维动画，创作方向主要是故事感插画。相比于用动画讲故事，她更擅长用定格的插画画面去表达一个理念或者一种思考的过程，在她的画面中，每一个细节的设置更像是一个符号，引导观众更深层次的思考。从小学起，画画便是一种她与自己交流的媒介，她安静内敛的性格使她在独处之中探索一种全新的表达方式。十年时间中，她接受专业的绘画训练仅半年时间，基本上她所有的活动都是在课余拿起画笔，但是因为高中的学业压力所以绘画技法的学习对于她来说更为困难，风格直到2022年才基本形成。在大学期间，她的绘画主题更多聚焦在对于“生”和“存在”的探索上，从同人创作到独立插画，她画面表达的问题多聚焦在她对于世界和生命的理解。

Xin Lan, a student at Communication University of China, has been studying in Beijing since 2021. Her current major is 3D animation, and her creation direction is mainly story-sense illustration. Compared with telling stories with animation, she is better at expressing an idea or a thinking process with illustration pictures. In her pictures, every detail is more like a symbol, guiding the audience to thinking deeper. Since primary school, painting has been a medium for her to communicate with herself. Her quiet and introverted character enables her to explore a brand new way of expression in solitude. In ten years, she only received professional painting training for half a year, and basically all her activities were to pick up a paintbrush in her spare time. However, due to the academic pressure in high school, it was more difficult for her to learn painting skills, and her style basically formed in 2022. In college, her paintings focused more on the exploration of "life" and "existence". From fancreation to independent illustration, the problems expressed in her paintings mainly focused on her understanding of the world and life.

1) What is the underlying message in your new exhibition “Life and Existence “?

I think it is an interesting thing to discuss the meaning of living. We all have life like all living things in the world. Mayflies only have a life of one day, and some plants have a life of thousands of years. What are we going to experience in our limited time?My paintings illustrate the process of life and my discussion on the meaning of life from different perspectives, and also look at the cycle of life from some Buddhist perspectives.

1)你的新展览“生命与存在”深层次的含义是什么?

我认为探讨活着的意义是一件有趣的事情，我们与世间一切生命体一样都拥有生命，蜉蝣只有一天的生命，有的植物有几千年的生命，那我们在有限的生命中将经历什么呢？我的画作用不同的角度阐述了生命的过程和我对生命的意义的探讨，也用了一些佛学的角度去看待生命的轮回。

2) Where does your inspiration come from?

Most of my inspirations come from books I read or things that happen in reality. I will combine the feelings and emotions with the symbols in my mind that can express these meanings and turn them into a picture that can convey my ideas.

2)你的灵感来自哪里?

我的灵感来源大多数是读到的书或者现实中发生的事情，我会把对于这些事情的感悟和情绪与我脑海中可以表达这些含义的符号相结合，变成一个能传达我想法的画面。

3) Which art movements have influenced your own unique style?

In my opinion, both the modern art movement and the Art Nouveau movement have greatly influenced me, among which the schools of surrealism and constructivism have exerted a deep influence on my painting style. I try to use real things to express surreal scenes in my paintings, and many paintings introduce the concepts of multi-dimensional space and space-time overlap. These artistic movements have helped me to better express the world in my eyes with pictures.

3)哪些艺术运动影响了你自己独特的风格?

我觉得现代艺术运动和新艺术运动都极大的影响了我，其中的超现实主义和构成主义流派对我的作画风格影响很深，我尝试在画作中用现实中的东西表现超现实的情景，且有很多画中都引入了多维空间和时空重叠的概念，这些艺术运动帮助了我更好的用画面表达我眼中的世界。

4) Are you offering new expressions of Buddhist philosophy and quantum physics in your work ?

Yes, I try to express the system of physics with the infinite symbols of geometrization and quantum mechanics, express the philosophy of Buddhism and the concept of reincarnation with rounded ripples, and represent the link between cause and effect with various circles. These are my new expressions of these two fields.

4)在你的作品中，你是否提供了佛教哲学和量子物理的新表达?

是的，我尝试用几何化和量子力学的无限符号去表达物理学的体系，用圆润的波纹表达佛教的哲理和轮回的概念，各种各样的圆环图样则代表着因果环环相扣，这些都是我尝试对这两个领域的新表达。

5) As a young artist, what aspirations would you like to express on behalf of your generation?

As a young person who has not been exposed to painting for a long time, I hope that people can appreciate the different expressions of painting, and I also hope that painters of our generation can create more good works. And I hope that more people can pick up the brush to express what they think, and experience the happiness brought by painting.

5)作为一名年轻艺术家，你想代表你们这一代人表达什么愿望?

作为一个其实接触绘画不算久的青年，我希望人们都可以欣赏到绘画的不同表达，也希望我们这一代的绘画者能创作出更多好的作品，并且我也希望更多的人能够拿起画笔去表达他们所想的事物，体会绘画所带来的快乐。
