The Beijinger's Ultimate Halloween Events Round-Up

With Halloween falling on a Saturday night this year, it's guaranteed to be a downright zombie apocalypse. Make sure you don't miss out on the Monster Mash by picking and booking your chosen event as soon as possible – lucky for you we have put together a pretty darn comprehensive list of all the Halloween happenings around town.

Oct 30: Chill Halloween Party
This session of the monthly French Youth Economic Chamber of Beijing (JCEF) party brings a Halloween party in collaboration with the Canadian and Italian chambers. To spice things up, a DJ will be there from 9pm, a pumpkin carving competition, and masks will be provided for those who don't wear costumes. There will be special prices on the following drinks: Tsingtao, Tiger beers, margaritas, mojitos, and a special, and spooky, Halloween cocktail. Free. 7.30pm. Chill Bar

Oct 30: Pre-Halloween Party
If you're not sure whether your Halloween costume is good enough, why not take the time to test it out at Siif's Pre-Halloween Party. Best costume wins a bottle of red wine. Expect DJs Tybo, Fizsko, and Kushflow to bring you tunes all night long. Free. 9.30pm. Siif

Oct 30-31: YEN Fetish Halloween
This is it, the big one. YEN brings the bacchanalia every Halloween and this year they are extending the fun with two nights of madness, the first day boasting both techno and drum and bass rooms, and the second day bringing you house, classic hip-hop, and reggae. Oct 31: Club Paradise Halloween: BOO-gie Down
This Halloween BOO-gie on over to Modernista for a monster of a disco party with DJs Ted Dancin' and Gary Boozy who will be hitting the decks with hours of nu-disco, funk, and some ghosts of disco past. In Back to the Future II, Marty McFly arrives in the future in October 2015. To celebrate, The Local is throwing aBack to the Future-themed Halloween party! Celebrate Halloween with one of the sexiest, most twisted movies ever. Oct 31: Beijing Misfits
The Beijing Misfits have been haunting the beer-soaked halls of our nation’s capital from time immemorial, showing up regularly every Halloween to slash and grind their way through classic tunes of b-movie horror. They’re joined this year by China’s international fastcore legends Fanzui Xiangfa, Sweden’s 80s hardcore-punks Bad Nerve and Beijing’s all-female spitfire quartet Quickshot. Free. 10pm. Temple

Oct 31: Seventh Annual Halloween Jack-o-Lantern Carving Contest at The Schoolhouse
Select a pumpkin and decorate or carve it (while quantities last). The creations will be displayed and lit up as jack-o-lanterns at the end of the day to be judged by the Schoolhouse team. Prizes will be awarded in two categories: Children and Teens aged up to 18 and Adults. The winning Child or Teen will receive a gift certificate for RMB 688 for purchases at The Schoolhouse.
