Live Band: The Hot Club of Beijing – an  award winning multinational ensemble carrying on the tradition of Django Reinhardt’s tunes. The musicians of this diverse ensemble come from all over the globe including France, Greece, The United States and Xinjiang, China, adding their eclectic mix of international flavors to the gypsy jazz idiom.

现场乐队：北京热浪俱乐部 - 由占戈-瑞纳创建于上个世纪三十年代，另类的组合，将摇摆乐进行了全新演绎，由于占戈-瑞纳的吉普赛人的身份，故将此音乐命名为“吉普赛爵士“，吉普赛爵士从问世至今经久不衰，令世界各地的爵士乐手争相模仿，同样在北京也有一支这样的乐队—北京热力俱乐部，活跃于各爵士俱乐部、酒吧、星级酒店以及各种特殊的酒会等，乐队由四位职业乐手组成，两位来自中国，两位来自法国。所以：北京热力俱乐部，50%的中国人、50%的法国人，带给你100%的摇摆！

What is Balboa?

什么是巴尔波亚舞？

Balboa is a social partnered dance that originated in Southern California during the 1920s and 1930s and gained in popularity in the 1930s and 1940s. 

巴尔波亚是一种上世纪20-30年代起源于南加州的双人舞蹈，并在30到40年代得到了最好的发展。

It is danced primarily in close embrace to upbeat swing music. This dance is fully improvisational and can be quite energetic yet elegant. Today many people around the world enjoy this type of swing dance.

这种舞蹈看起来就像是两个人在拥抱，配合轻快的摇摆爵士乐，用全身的链接去引带和跟随。它充满了即兴的自由，活力十足又不失优雅。如今巴尔波亚舞蹈已得到了全世界的喜爱，不过在中国可是刚开始起步的新潮流，复古又时尚的你，何不一试呢？

Pure-Bal vs Bal-Swing

古典和当代的碰撞

Balboa generally can be divided into two styles that we like to mix in our dancing. 

巴尔波亚舞通常被分为两个风格，在跳舞时穿插着使用非常有趣！

First one is called Pure-Bal, and refers to the early style of Balboa which focuses on close embrace connection with your partner, rhythm and weight changes as well as footwork variations.

第一种是古典巴尔波亚舞，值得是最早期的巴尔波亚，非常注重近距离位置的连接、节奏和令人眼花缭乱的脚步！

可爱的抱抱舞

Second one is called Bal-Swing, and was more popular in the 30s and 40s. This style includes a lot of moves similar to the ones we use in Lindy Hop, and danced with more open connection. 

第二种是当代巴尔波亚舞，在30-40年代极为流行。这种风格结合了更多摇摆舞Lindy Hop的动作，有更多两人间的位置变化。

With the knowledge of Pure-Bal, we can move on to Bal-Swing and using more rotation and stretch techniques, frame and other aspects of leading and following.

What is Slow Bal?

慢歌也能跳的巴尔波亚？

Slow Bal is growing in popularity all over the world and it's time to bring it to the Beijing scene! When we talk about Balboa, we think about faster tempos. But why do we limit ourselves to only fast tunes? This dance can be pleasant and inventive at any tempo! 

慢速巴尔波亚是在全世界都大受欢迎的一种舞蹈，现在我们将它带到北京舞者的课堂上！通常当我们谈到巴尔波亚时，我们总认为它是节奏很快的。但为什么要把自己限制在某一种速度的音乐里呢？巴尔波亚舞能在任何速度下为你带来愉悦和创造力！

There are special footworks and techniques that you need to know to be able to dance to any tempo. And during this lesson we will cover these basics of Slow Balboa.

想要在各种节奏的音乐下都能自如地起舞，你需要掌握一些特别的脚步和技巧。在这堂课程中，我们就将为你的慢速巴尔波亚舞打下一个良好的基础。
