As summer holidays are getting closer, many parties are 

awaiting for you in our ever changing and beloved Beijing.

Kiss friends goodbye while enjoying a cold drink in this hot weather, check the shows we've prepared for you to remember and get a poster souvenir at the bar if you like to take a little Modernista back home :) 

This month, we've got new bands like the energetic STAR BAND, the jazzy DAYDREAMER, or the intense TULEGUR. 

Also, old friends coming back to see us, like the always fun THE ITALIAN WAY, queen of accordion MADEMOISELLE ET SON ORCHESTRE, our favorite Chinese shadow puppet & live music band RAVI & THE SHADOWS and visiting MISS LULU 

GALORE from Shanghai.

Also, our regulars UIGHUR SAMA BAND opening the month, STEVIE MAC & THE MAC DADDIES for Fete de Musique on June 21st, Beijing's most solid pop band NANCY & THE FANTASTIC, Monday Latin crazyness with SAVOR LATINO, and M'ZYK & SPICE CABINET to close the month, all ready to start a party or two!

Finally, this June we want to farewell one of the sweetest and most talented friends we've made in the past years at Modernista. He was the first band to play for our SUNDAY JAZZ in November 2015, and the one who has given us truly the most moments of happiness with his music and his company.

As HIDEAKI TOKUNAGA is heading back to the States by the end of the month, we invite you to share with us a bit more of his gentle magic with two special shows: a BOSSA NOVA NIGHT with Brazilian singer Stella Sabbatini on Sunday June 11th, and a NAMASTE Indian Music performance on Thursday June 22nd.
