This Sunday evening we invite the Prototype Jazz Quartet to the stage of Modernista for the very first time! Enjoy the musical combination of 张晶 Zhang Jing's guitar, Pierre Pradat on keyboard, Darens Burns on bass and Edward Barroetabena on drums and treat yourself to some great tapas and one of our new winter cocktails Sunday evening at 8.30PM!

关于鼓手
Eduardo de la Cruz Barroetabeña (Edward) was born on April 12th, 1986, Las Tunas, Cuba. He studied music from 1997 to 2001 at “ El Cucalambe “ music school in Las Tunas and continued his studies in percussion until 2006 at the Professional Conservatory of Music “José Maria Ochoa in Holguin”.
Eduardo de la Cruz Barroetabeña（爱德华）出生于 1986 年 4 月 12 日，古巴拉斯图纳斯。1997 年至 2001 年，他曾在 Las Tunas 的“El Cucalambe”音乐学院学习音乐；2001 年至 2006 年，他在音乐 学院“荷尔金的 JoséMaria Ochoa”打击乐专业继续他的学习。
His ability, virtuosity, and versatility allowed him to play and shared stage with prestigious musicians and bands. We can mention Afro Cuban All Stars, Chucho Valdes, Wynton Marsalis, David Sanchez, Stefon Harris, Christian Scott, and Jose Luis Quintana (Changuito), among many others.
他的能力，专业技艺和多元性让他能与著名的音乐家和乐队共同演出。他的合作者有：非洲古巴 全明星，Chucho Valdes，Wynton Marsalis，David Sanchez，Stefon Harris，Christian Scott，Jose Luis Quintana 等等。
In November 2013 he moved to Beijing and has been teaching Drums at Midi School of Music, Dulwich College Beijing, BCIS and played with musicians such as Luoning, Hanlei, Zhan Xiaoli, Moreno Donadel, The Wisemann Brass Band, and his own Ensamble “Edward Latin Jazz Quartet”. He participated in several drums master classes in different cities and schools, such as China Conservatory of Music, Singapore, Malaysia, etc..
2013 年 11 月，他搬到北京，在北京德威德威学校 Midi 音乐学院教授鼓乐，并与洛宁，韩雷，詹 小丽，莫雷诺多纳尔，怀斯曼铜管乐队和他自己的 “爱德华拉丁爵士四重奏”乐队一起工作和表 演。他在许多学校和城市有过教授专业鼓乐的经历，如中国音乐学院，新加坡，马来西亚，徐州， 珠海，广州，杭州，北京，深圳，崇泉，太原，苏州，沛县，东莞，上海，南京，常熟，济南等。
He has performed also at relevant international events : Barranquijazz Festival in Colombia, Java Jazz Festival, Singapore Jazz Festival, Martinique Jazz Festival, JZ Festival (Shanghai), Midi Festival, Jazz Plaza, etc.
他不仅在古巴的主要舞台上演出过，还参加了许多相关的国际活动：如哥伦比亚巴兰基亚音乐节， 爪哇爵士音乐节，新加坡爵士音乐节，马提尼克爵士音乐节，JZ 音乐节（上海），Midi Festival， 中国草莓节和爵士乐广场会等。
Moreover, in 2009 and 2010 he won as a composer at the Jojazz Contest, a competition that brings together young talents in Cuba, and in 2015 he won the Drums Solo Contest of the Victoria Drum Festival 2015 of Canada.
此外，在 2009 年和 2010 年，他作为作曲家赢得了 Jojazz 比赛，一次将古巴年轻人才聚集在一起 的比赛；并于 2015 年 4 月在加拿大维多利亚鼓乐节中以表演鼓乐独奏获胜。
