Here at Modernista Jazz has a special place in our hearts. That's why we have our Sunday Jazz Series. Every Sunday (and a few weekdays) we dedicate the evening to this enigmatic and celebrated musical genre with live bands. It's not just any Jazz though, each evening is its own style within the genre, from the classic to the experimental and everything in between. Be you new or a connoisseur, can come and delight in all things Jazz.
在我们的音乐之夜里，爵士演出一直是很重要的组成部分，不论是展望周末的工作日，还是一周收尾的周日晚，老摩的舞台上，都会奏起浪漫舒缓的爵士音调，各路爵士好手集结献演，各种不同的流派轮番上演，共同点燃老摩的爵士夜晚。

WANG ZONGXING QUARTET

Chill while they deliver the cheerful jazz melodies inspired by be-bop — showcasing styles from blues to swing & merging sounds to deliver a truly unique experience. The working week might already be here, but when the band plays, they won't let it interfere!

Get ready to see the showcase of Lannie’s original compositions, fusing soul and jazz together under one unique style. Going back more than 100 years now, Shanghai has a long legacy of jazz, and she can proudly be considered part of it. Come see what the second century of Shanghai jazz is made of!

MISTERIOSO
致敬三重奏之夜
Sunday, Simone Schirru Trio will bring their new project "Misterioso" to Modernista, paying tribute to one of the innovators of bop — Thelonious Monk. Bop jazz started in New York in the 1940s and the man nicknamed Melodious Thunk was one of its earliest purveyors. Known for his unconventional style of playing, he is without a doubt one of the great composers and characters in the history of jazz. Come enjoy as they explore his catalogue!
