What is Balboa?

什么是巴尔波亚舞？

Balboa is a social partnered dance that originated in Southern California during the 1920s and 1930s and gained in popularity in the 1930s and 1940s.

巴尔波亚是一种上世纪20-30年代起源于南加州的双人舞蹈，并在30到40年代得到了最好的发展。

It is danced primarily in close embrace to upbeat swing music. This dance is fully improvisational and can be quite energetic yet elegant. Today many people around the world enjoy this type of swing dance.

这种舞蹈看起来就像是两个人在拥抱，配合轻快的摇摆爵士乐，用全身的链接去引带和跟随。它充满了即兴的自由，活力十足又不失优雅。如今巴尔波亚舞蹈已得到了全世界的喜爱，不过在中国可是刚开始起步的新潮流，复古又时尚的你，何不一试呢？

Pure-Bal vs Bal-Swing

Balboa generally can be divided into two styles that we like to mix in our dancing: Pure-Bal and Bal-Swing. 巴尔波亚舞通常被分为两个风格，在跳舞时穿插着使用非常有趣！

The one that is called Pure-Bal refers to the early style of Balboa which focuses on close embrace connection with your partner, rhythm and weight changes as well as footwork variations. Bal-Swing involved move open moves, inspired by Lindy Hop during 1930s and 1940s, and uses more rotaion and stretch.

第一种是古典巴尔波亚舞，值得是最早期的巴尔波亚，非常注重近距离位置的连接、节奏和令人眼花缭乱的脚步！另一种叫做“Bal-Swing”，结合了lindyhop，有更多开放式的动作，更多拉伸的动作。
