周日爵士之夜：KIAI爵士四重奏

This Sunday we are presenting a new original jazz project by some of our favorite Beijing based musicians: Italian guitar player Simone Schirru, American saxophonist Nathaniel Gao, young drum talent Xu Zhitong, and veteran Zhang Ke on double bass.
The band, KIAI, performs originals and eclectic compositions of his members but doesn't avoid to play some nice standards once in a while. KIAI thinks firmly that Jazz need to be brave and an improviser should embrace risks, living his performance with “fighting spirit”.

SIMONE SCHIRRU (Guitar)
西蒙（吉他，意大利）
Simone Schirru is a guitar player, composer and teacher.
He graduated in “Jazz Guitar” Academy of Music “G.P. da Palestrina” in Cagliari, studying with M. Ferra. Afterwards, he got his master degree in Jazz Guitar at “Lemmens Institute” in Belgium studying with P. Hertmans, Frank Vaganée, Ron Van Rossum and Bo Van Der Werf.
He joined Master Classes led by D. Douglas, S. Coleman, Butch Morris, P. Metheny, A. Braxton, Muhal Richard Abrams, G. Fewell, Roscoe Mitchell, W. Leo Smith, John Scofield etc.
In 2005 and 2008, Simone won the Scholarship of the International Festival of Sant’anna Arresi as best guitar player and best band studying with G. Fewell (Berklee College) and R. Cecchetto. He played with “Guitto Gargle”, “Cuenta Contemporanea”, the solo project “Improsa Tongue”, “Ajojo mandi & the Youngers”, Progetto Nudo, Pixeldrama... in many festivals and prestigious places around the world.
In Belgium he's active in the well known soul band “Man on Fire and the Soul Soldiers” playing around the country in many events such “Féte de l'iris”, “1 May festival”, “Yo!Fest”, “Jazz Marathon” and many others. Beside a lot of jazz bands he also played with Kangling, Oghene Kologbo & the World Squad, Nestor Martin, Lorenzo Agnifili Big Band, and his brand new bands “Invisible” and “Elegant People”. He also collaborated in a theatrical events and musical reading.
Simone Schirru 毕业于卡利亚里的G.P.daPalestrina音乐学院爵士吉它专业，之后在比利时Lemmens学院获硕士学位，并在大师班中学习，受D. Douglas, S.Coleman, Butch Morris, Pet Metheny, A. Braxton, Muhal Richard Abrams, G. Fewell,Roscoe Mitchell, W. Leo Smith, John Scofield等大师的指导。2005-2008年期间赢得Sant’anna Arresi 音乐节的最佳吉它手和最佳乐队奖项及奖学金，获得跟随G. Fewell(柏克利大学)和R.Cecchetto学习的机会。Simone是比利时著名soul乐队Manon Fire and the Soul Soldiers的成员，巡演至欧洲各地; 同时他也创立了自己的两支乐队“Invisible”和”Elegant people”，他也是拉丁爵士大乐队等乐团的固定成员，并参与剧场音乐会项目。

NATHANIEL GAO (Sax)
高太行（萨克斯风，美国）
高太行,2006年以来活跃在北京爵士音乐界的的萨克斯演奏家和作曲家。作为“红手”五重奏乐队的成员之一和他自 己的四重奏和三重奏乐队的主导者,他为北京爵士音乐做出了重要贡献。此外,他还积极参与了其他风格和流派的 音乐活动,包括“Three Sergeants Syndrome”,“北京城市大乐队”,Afrokoko Roots 和 “不一定” 等音乐团体。他参 与了“九门音乐节”, “迷笛爵士节”, “地坛音乐节”, "重庆爵士节","海龟岛国际音乐节"以及北京, 上海, 广州和成都等多 地的演出活动。高太行于2006年获得美国北艾奥瓦大学音乐表演学士学位,于2011年获得纽约城市学院爵士演奏硕 士学位。
XU ZHITONG (Drums)
徐之曈（鼓，中国）
爵士鼓演奏家，旅居德国。德国维尔茨堡国立音乐学院爵士鼓演奏学士学位；德国慕尼黑国立音乐与戏剧学院爵士鼓演奏硕士学位；德国慕尼黑国立音乐与戏剧学院爵士鼓最高演奏家文凭 / 演奏类博士，同时担任慕尼黑国立音乐与戏剧学院教育系爵士鼓教师。德国勃兰登堡州青年爵士大乐队鼓手(Landes Jugend Jazz Orchester Brandenburg)。
他以无懈可击的技术,极其成熟的音乐理解力,时刻保有的对音乐的热情与敏锐度，富有创造力的音乐性和对风格的掌控能力,以及他具有的明显的个人风格与声音上的辨识度都使人留下深刻的印象。
他活跃在国内外的爵士乐舞台上，参加了多个世界著名爵士音乐节的演出，他经常与国内外著名爵士鼓音乐家一起合作： Antonio Hart, Ernie Watts, Enrica Bacchia, Yannick Rieu, Rafal Sarnecki, Xia Jia，Liu Yue, Nathaniel Gao，Li Xiaochuan，Huang Jianyi，Lawrence Ku,
Mark Bai，Kevin Sun, Claus Reichstaller, Andreas Kissenbeck, Konstantin Kostov, Paulo Cardoso，Florian Trübsbach, Anton Mangold, Felix Schneider, Moritz Stahl 等等。
徐之曈在各项重要赛事中获奖并赢得关注，2017年年获得了了“Kurt Maas Jazz Award 2017”第二名; 2014年年获得“Odd Meter&Metric Modulation” 比赛第一名与“The Best Sideman”；2013年“The Music Of Wayne Shorter” 比赛中，他所在的两个乐队分别获得第一名和第二名; 2012年年在 All that Blues比赛中，获得了了“最佳独奏奖”。
ZHANG KE (Double Bass)
张柯（低音提琴，中国）
现居住在北京，担任夏佳三重奏，高太行四重奏以及贝贝四重奏的贝斯手。 多次在北京及上海的爵士节演出，曾为数位音乐家及歌手录制专辑。曾参加08年北京国际电子爵士音乐节， 09年北京九门爵士音乐节， 中央音乐学院国际现代音乐周爵士乐专场演出等等。在北京大多数爵士乐演出场所作驻场演出， 包括东岸爵士酒吧， 东方大班爵士现场， 潞溪音乐餐厅， 北京意大利音乐广场， 前门23号布鲁宫等。
