Every Wednesday night at Modernista, we dive into the unique atmosphere of a 1930s bar, with vintage swing beats and dancing. Once a week we invite everyone to experience what young people back in swing era did on their free night, swing dance!

ST. LOUIS SHAG 精品课程
We are very excited to invite everyone to join a special course about another kind of swing dance called Saint Louis Shag. It is also a social partnered dance that can be done to swing music.
我们很高兴可以跟大家分享一个很小众的摇摆舞：St. Louis Shag。这也是一个搭档舞，可以跟随很多不同类型和速度的摇摆乐来跳。
During the first three Wednesdays in December we will have a continuous St. Louis Shag course, to give everyone an opportunity to learn and practice enough moves and variations to enjoy it on the social dance floor. No dance experience is neccessary to join! You can also drop-in each time, but there is a discount for those who sign up for all 3 weeks.
12月前三个周三，我们将会开办一期St. Louis Shag的基础课，学习不同的动作和舞步变化，为社交舞会提供一些灵感。这三次课内容都会不一样，每一节课都可以选择单独报名，但是提前报名三周的课程有优惠。

Every Wednesday we have a selection of upbeat swing tunes (Big Band, Gypsy Jazz, etc.) for those who love vintage jazz, whether just to lay back and listen or to let those happy feet loose on the dance floor.

SWING DANCE 摇摆舞
Swing Dance is a partnered social dance originated in Harlem, New York (USA) and was especially popular throughout the 1920s-1950s. It's a partnered social dance based on leading and following, and danced to jazz music from the same era (mainly Big Band swing). It's a very fun and diverse dance, including many elements combined in a free improvisational manner.
摇摆舞起源于美国纽约的Harlem哈林区。摇摆舞盛行于美国上世纪20-40年代。摇摆舞通常是两个人跳的社交舞蹈，其中也混合了一些独舞动作。摇摆舞者的语言就是节奏、好玩儿和即兴!
Today many swing dancers all around the world enjoy dancing various styles, including Charleston, Lindy Hop, Shag, Balboa and a few others. Often swing dancers would dress up in vintage style, to fully embrace the charm of the swing times. On Wednesdays we are focusing mostly on the style called "BALBOA".
时至今日，风靡全球的摇摆舞发展出不一样的风格如查尔斯顿，林迪舞，巴尔波亚等，舞者都会穿着复古打扮，而在每周三都摇摆之夜，我们将专注于巴尔波亚舞。
St. LOUIS SHAG 什么是St.Louis Shag?
Shag这一词并没有特指任何一种舞蹈，而只是用来描述很有活力的舞蹈。现在可考证的Shag分别有Collegiate Shag，St Louis Shag，Carolina Shag和Heel Shag。
St Louis Shag发展于密苏里州圣路易斯的黑人社区，舞步与Lindy Hop和Charleston有很多相似之处。这个舞的位移非常少，整理流动性非常悠哉舒服，可以根据很多不同类型和速度的摇摆乐来跳，是一种非常欢乐的舞蹈。
这种舞跳起来的时候比看着更有趣。对于领舞和跟舞都非常容易上手，一堂课之后就可以跳得动。我们希望更多人来与我们一起探索这种非常有活力的摇摆舞！
This dance is much more simple and enjoyable than it may seem at first glance! It's very easy to lead and follow, and everyone can dance it just after one class! We hope that more people can discover this fun energetic way of dancing to swing music.
