This Friday, we start our 8th anniversary weekend in the name of the folk vibes of the Canadian songwriter Ember Swift's compositions. Accompanied by a band of talented musicians, she's going tell you stories that can only be unfolded through music!

EMBER SWIFT
子玉
Ember Swift is a Canadian musician and singer-songwriter who has been living in Beijing since 2008. She’s released 12 albums and 1 DVD over the years including her most recent album "Sticks & Stones" (2017). It is a collection of work in three categories: Songs for Adults; Songs for Kids; and finally Songs for Adults w/ Kids. The latter category is a group Ember feels is underserviced, especially since she became a mother of two in 2012 and 2013, respectively! This past fall 2017, Ember completed a European Tour comprising of 10 shows in four different countries. Be on the look out for several new songs inspired by the road!
加拿大艺术家子玉(Ember Swift)现居中国北京。自1996年起,她已经发行了11张专辑,并在很多国家拥有 忠实的粉丝。
Ember Swift’s music is decidedly eclectic and includes jazz, folk, funk, rock, cabaret and pop songs. She sings in English, Mandarin and French. Combined with her signature elastic-jazz vocals and poignant, astute lyrics, this"folk" artist becomes hard to categorize but impossible to forget. 子玉讲一口流利的中文,丈夫又是中国人,对中国文化有着较深的理解,她的音乐也凸显出这种文化的交融 碰撞。比如歌词有中文、有英文、有法文(这两个都是加拿大的官方语言),在编配上除了常规的西方乐器也 用到了中国的传统乐器二胡。个人方面,子玉有着充满张力的嗓音,弹得一手好琴,她爵士风格的吉他演奏 独具一格,不仅如此,舞台上的她更有着迷人的气质。
Styles on this album include jazz, folk, gypsy, rock, R&B, electronic, pop, folk and even Klezmer. The band, assembled in Beijing, includes America's Anthony Vanacore on the drums and China's Dong Dong on bass, Ghana's Ray on keys, and Canada's Gabriel Beaudoin on electric guitar & BV.
他的风格包括爵士,吉普赛,摇滚,放克,流行,民谣,和蓝调。乐队组建于北京,成员有美国的鼓手Anthony Vanacore, 中国的贝司手东东,加纳的键盘手Ray,以及加拿大的电吉他手Gabriel Beaudoin。
