Dongwei only attended a course in art history as a sitter-in during college years; it is therefore a surprise that what she learnt in this course should have become the source of inspiration for her current design as a professional designer. Obssessed with horizontal and vertical lines and geometrical shapes typical in Piet Mondrian's neoplastic paintings which are saturated with transcendental implications, she wants to design jewelry of this style to express her world view and philosophy of life. 

The first line of Dongwei's design is called "The Shape of Security". Upon seeing the name of this line, every girl might want to make sure she herself has 100% sense of security, coming from within or from external sources. For Dongwei, if there is a way to materialize this noun phrase it must be the hexagonal hive of bees - inclusive and stable. The shape, just like sense of security, seems simple but is actually sophisticated in its own way. It appears very easy to acquire the sense of security once basic living supplies are obtained, but it takes time to know it is more about the heart with tranquility and self-assurance.

大学时蹭读过的美术史，没想到会成为今天做首饰的灵感来源。她偏执的迷恋蒙德里安“冷抽象”画作中那些纵横的直线和几何图形所呈现出的超脱装饰意境，也想凭着首饰这一媒介来抽象的表达自己对世界的看法。

冬尾的第一个系列－“安全感的形状”。当看到这个词的时候，每个女孩子可能都会在内心衡量一下，是否拥有足够的安全感，无论来自自己，还是他人的。 在她的脑海里，如果非要将安全感这一抽象名词具象化，那就应该是蜂巢的六边形结构，试图表达一种稳定和包容。它看似简单，实则精巧，内含玄机。就如安全感，貌似柴米充足就有了获得的资格，渐渐发现，它是一种内心的平衡，一种难以描摹的归宿感。

“ It is the desire to make completely handmade modern jewels that inspires me, so I use for my creations traditional material (hard stones, glass, horn, amber) together with varied elements like small steel springs, washers, hammered metal and artificially coloured materials. The combination of these different components makes it possible for me to create almost tailored collections of necklaces, bracelets, rings and earringswith contemporary and balanced shapes that enhance the femininity of every woman.

“我渴望设计纯手工制作的现代珠宝，这始终是我的灵感来源。我将传统的材料（如硬质石材、玻璃、角、琥珀）与多种元素（如小弹簧、垫圈、金属、人工着色材料）结合起来完成创作。这些不同组件的组合为我设计制作项链、手镯、戒指和耳环的系列饰品提供可能性，这些饰品的形状兼具当代与平衡的特点，为佩戴他们的女性提升别具一格的气质。”

TheBIG8s is a Beijing based project started in 2010 by Damon Yau and Nuria Cimini. It presents little pieces of China, little pieces of history, in the form of Chinese objects from the 60's, 70's and 80's. TheBIG8s, or 八大件 in Chinese, were the words Chinese people used at that time to describe "the eight things a house must have" according with the new consumption standards of the opening and reform era, namely, televisions, refrigerators, stereos, cameras, bicycles, furniture sets, washing machines, and electric fans. Together with them, there were bags, lamps, old radios and clocks, house ware, shoes and accessories, cameras, old toys and many other things. 

Because we love the stuff we sell, we search and select every single thing personally, clean it and repair it, treating all our products with big care. Find out how different people in a different country and time had lived once, and remember, if you finally decide to buy one of our products, where it comes from and what its history is. We will be happy to let them go! 

八大件在2010年由分别来自香港与巴塞罗那的Damon Yau与Nuria Cimini于北京创立，主理中国六十年代到八十年代的时代产物，根据当时改革开放的新消费水平，八大件指当时家里必备的八件物品，包括电视机，冰箱，音响，照相机，自行车，家具组合，洗衣机与电风扇；店家把八大件概念伸延至当时流行的挎肩包，灯具，收音机，钟表，家具用品，鞋子，饰物，玩具等等古老产物。本着对这些古老物品的热爱，店家亲身到处搜集八大件里面大大小小的每一件，精挑细选，并进行复修，窥探某些人在某个时间地点曾经的生活痕迹，假如你也对历史感充满好奇与热情，店家将非常乐意送走八大件里面的大件小件。
