Every Wednesday night we dive into the unique
atmosphere of a 1930s bar, with vintage swing beats, drinking & dancing. Once a week, we invite everyone, both dancers and lookers, to experience what young people back in the swing era did on their free night: swing dance!
每周三在摩登尼斯塔酒吧的摇摆舞之夜，我们穿越到三十年代复古的氛围与节奏，还原当时年轻人最时髦的摇摆舞时代！
And, of course, don't forget Modernista's signature cocktails, speciality chocolate and warm drinks!

The swinging side of energetic frontwoman Marie-Claude Lebel is ready to help your feet move to the rhythms of this american social dance.
The band is a great choice for all those eager to see the other side of Mademoiselle while keeping up with their Balboa steps.
This time, Lebel performs together with A VERY SPECIAL GUEST, New York born guitarist DANIEL BRUSTMAN, plus the regular combo of ET on double bass and Jia Jia on drums
Their lively style, with a gypsy touch, will also keep you drinking in joy until late late night, so don´t forget our midnight shot happy hour everyone!

Every Wednesday we have a selection of upbeat swing tunes (Big Band, Gypsy Jazz, etc.) for those who love vintage jazz, whether just to lay back and listen or to let those happy feet loose on the dance floor.

SWING DANCE 摇摆舞
Swing Dance is a partnered social dance originated in Harlem, New York (USA) and was especially popular throughout the 1920s-1950s. It's a partnered social dance based on leading and following, and danced to jazz music from the same era (mainly Big Band swing). It's a very fun and diverse dance, including many elements combined in a free improvisational manner.
摇摆舞起源于美国纽约的Harlem哈林区。摇摆舞盛行于美国上世纪20-40年代。摇摆舞通常是两个人跳的社交舞蹈，其中也混合了一些独舞动作。摇摆舞者的语言就是节奏、好玩儿和即兴!
Today many swing dancers all around the world enjoy dancing various styles, including Charleston, Lindy Hop, Shag, Balboa and a few others. Often swing dancers would dress up in vintage style, to fully embrace the charm of the swing times. On Wednesdays we are focusing mostly on the style called "BALBOA".

BALBOA 什么是巴尔波亚?
巴尔波亚是一种上世纪20-30年代起源于南加州的舞蹈，当然现在的巴尔波亚更加融合很多当代的元素。早期的巴尔波亚实际上是Swing Dance摇摆舞的一种，出现在1915年，并在30到40年代得到了最好的发展。这种舞蹈看起来就像是两个人在拥抱，用全身的链接去引带和跟随。而专属于她的独特魅力则在于音带和跟随之间十分微妙的交流了。
Balboa is a type of Swing dance, originated in Southern California during the 1920s and 1930s and gained in popularity in the 1930s and 1940s. It is danced primarily in close embrace to upbeat swing music. This dance is fully improvisational and can be quite energetic yet elegant.

Everyone is welcome to bring a partner and join us on the dance floor for the dance party (from 21:30)! For those who like to learn more about this dance and want to join our classes, we offer Balboa Basics course, starting on September 13. There are 8 classes in the course, 1 h each (20:30-21:30).
