Horse Feather is a band that brings together alternative rock, folk and funk to create a great style of original music. With a mixture of both originals and covers, they move the audience to a variety of sounds: from lilting harmonies to fast- paced songs guaranteed to have you throwing on your dance shoes. Danny, Cassius, Daniel and Nadim represent four
corners of the laowai universe, hoping to add to the Beijing scene with songs about everything from culture clashes to bad trips. We’re so cool our socks don’t match, hell ya!

The duo began with two players who just wanted to write and play songs that told the true stories. Dooder brought his cajon, his guitar and his soul man style. Kamau brought his guitar and vocals. Together, the duo started crafting songs that weaved funk rhythms and blues to bring to stage songs like "If I Told You I loved You," "Dream Song," "7th Floor," and "While We We Were Sleeping."
They bring the funk. They bring the fire. They bring the feeling that you're feeling in your bones as you're reading through their bio.
Kamau is the host of the Picker's Open Mic Night at Caravan Bar and Restaurant (Beijing, China), former host and producer of This Is Providence (Providence, Rhode Island), a singer/songwriter, and a founding member of the rock band D.Cortisol, the free form band Ad Libitum and the guitarist/vocalist for The Great Buffalo Blues. As a songwriter and a performer, he has an ear for a good story, lyrics that spin you around when you least expect it, a solid sense of rhythm, and songs that have been called full of emotion and "pop but personal."
Dooder has played in many of the live houses in Beijing, festivals in mainland China and Mongolia, and written and composed songs for many local and mainland organizations. He is a vocalist, musician and composer. His playing includes folk, blues, funk, and more. He is fluent in Chinese, Kirundi, and French in addition to English. One of his famous recordings called "Rastaman Never Give Up" was played all over Burundi on radio. He is also the percussionist, guitarist and vocalist for Great Buffalo Blues.
