TimeouT is a Beijing based foreign band performing Caribbean music from a Calypso to a Soca, Kaseko to a swing. The particular popular Caribbean lyrics with the Caribbean dialectical flavors keeps it top.
Their eclectic approach to the music attracts good listeners, others among us who like to be on the dance floor and this other group which we call party animals as well.
A distinctive thing about TimeouT is the use of Steel pan as their main melody instrument. Their Grenadian-born steel pan player has an intuitive vision in music. Growing up in a family with a deep classical background, he started to play the steel pan from a very young age.
As a result he became an accomplished steel pan player that can make u swing from a sweet groovy Kaseko-Jazz to a hot chutney.
This very special instrument was created in Trinidad and Tobago during the time of industrialization at the beginning of the 20th century, developing very fast and soon became an iconic drum in the Caribbean region.
