Led by Parker Trevathan and Jonathan Heeter, The Beijing Dead have
undergone many manifestations over the years. The line-up may have changed, but the Grateful Dead's Music has continually cast a rainbow across the (sometime) smoggy capital cityscape.
For this special performance, bass-player Heeter has assembled a cast of musicians to blend the Dead with the classic LA canyon sounds of the late 60s and early 70s. Expect cosmic country, psychedelic rock, swamp boogie and whisky doused blues as for one night only LA is Dead rock!

Life is Drag! So it's what VICE China wants you to be very clear about while they present its most recent short film “变装皇后“ this coming Saturday April 7th at Modernista. The premier screening will be followed by what we expect to be a jaw-dropping performance by VICE's special guests Krystal de Kanteur and Frozen Lolita. And, if that's not enough, get ready for a wild afterparty thanks to VICE’s very own DJ Ben Tianto and Modernista's made for the occasion spiced up drag cocktails!

Henk Kraaijeveld is a versatile jazz vocalist and songwriter from The Netherlands who brings together compelling music with strong lyrics,
storytelling and surprising improvisations. Crossovers are made between old and new styles of jazz, including elements from classical and popular music. Kraaijeveld’s debut album Passengers, which he is presenting now in Modernista to the chinese audience, contains mostly original songs as well as pop covers.
