Everyone's favourite Irish holiday is just around the corner. At Modernista we fully embrace the St Patrick's day festivities, as our old friends from BLACKWATER celebrate 10 years putting together the best of Irish musical tradition for Beijing's audiences. Bring your friends have a few drinks and join the fun!

BLACKWATER
BlackWater is based in Beijing, China. The band draws from the rich traditional Irishrepertoire (The Limerick Rake, The Foggy Dew, Wild Rover, I’ll Tell Me Ma, Spancill Hill, John Ryan’s Polka and much more) to create a tapestry of the Irish tradition. From beautiful ballads to frenzied jigs and electric reels, BlackWater is, without doubt, the most authentic Irish band one can listen to in China.
After having played for years in traditional style, Blackwater has decided to turn the power on and makei it loud! This is when the drummer Cedric Lebarliff, and later on the bass player Matt Gaillard joined the band. Along with Zoe Wang (accordion) and Nico Torrese (electric guitar) they are now embracing the rich tradition of Celtic rock and the equally rich and even more chaotic tradition of Irish Punk! The last edition is the lead singer Dominic Youe. This Englisg musicians brings fun and energy to the band as well as flute and whistle parts!
