On FRI 11TH THE SONS OF THUNDER, joined by original band BANG BANG MARY will make us want to sing our hearts out as they play everyone's favourite hits of the 2000s. And, if you prefer some more elegant sounds we suggest you to join us on SAT 12TH as THE MANTRAS play their exceptional fusion of classic pop and vocal jazz.

On FRI 18TH, we go back to disco as THE FLIP SIDE lures out the disco diva within to dance away to their selection of 80s Disco songs. Meanwhile, on SAT 19TH THE SPICE CABINET makes our adrenaline rush to their spiced up pop and deathbop beats while we still on thinking about our New Year's resolutions.

On FRI 25TH we enjoy EMBER SWIFT's sound of western an Chinese fusion and, before we all go on holidays, make sure you enjoy our CNY CLOSING PARTY with THE HUNTERS and their explosive funk performance on SAT 26TH!

爵士之夜
At Modernista January is a month of Jazz, with two international guests joining us during their 2019 China tours to complete a month full of interesting performances in the vibrant local jazz scene.
加入2019年1月老摩爵士演出的，既有我们一贯熟知喜爱的老朋友，更有国际爵士音乐家巡回到访！
On THU 10TH Chicago's saxophonist ROY McGRATH brings back his quartet to play for us their spiced up combination of jazz, latin and funk, while on SUN 13TH Korean guitarist YOUNG GU KIM's performance features another exceptional quartet of talented musicians to put on a playful yet elegant show. Don't miss out this one time chance to see their live performance!
1月份将有2位国际爵士演出嘉宾巡回演出到访老摩！1月10日周四，来自芝加哥的著名萨克斯演奏家Roy Macgrath将带着他的四重奏乐队，为我们演奏爵士、拉丁与疯克结合的震撼演出。1月13日周日，韩国杰出青年吉他手金永久与其他有着出众音乐天赋的四重奏乐队成员联合献奏，大腕汇集，不可错过！
ON SUN 20TH old friend TERRY HSIEH will play some classic lazy jazz tunes for the perfect weekend closing. To close the coldest month of the year, and enjoy a little few hours more of music before the Chinese New Year break starts, we invite XING YI FAN QUARTET to play one more time on SUN 27TH.

Want to try your hand at shadow puppet marionettes with old Master Wang? Or draw your mind while following Nekroma's hypnotic music and live painting performance? As we look towards the new year of 2019 we wish for adventures and new and eye opening experiences! This month, our Thursday are reserved for projects that blur between different musical genres and combine music and visual art, while encouranging public participation.

On THU 17TH as NEKROMA takes over the stage to play their dark ambient experimental sounds, while artist GUAZI follows the music to create her magic live art on our wall. Get inspired and bring your own drawing materials to join the fun!

Finally, before the Chinese New Year begins, join one more time Japanese drummer SEIGO on one of his energetic drumset sets on THU 24th. This is a performance certain to get you set for the tranquility that hits the street of Beijing before the Chinese new year!
1月24日，与日本爵士鼓手SEIGO的爵士奇遇！他的爵士演奏，承载了他多年与大量优秀音乐家的合作经历与他本身巡游世界的感触。是本能反应、是情感表达，同时具有实验性，可以被看作是他自己对他所看到的一切美好、鲜活但却混乱的世界的音乐诠释！

This January we will have three weeks of Salsa classes every Monday right before the Chinese New Year. You'll be surprised to see how much you can learn in only three weeks with our Cuban dance teacher Gustavo! The dance classes are of course followed by live music by Savor Latino, join us for a drink and salsa away!
在春节到来之前，在1月份将有共计3个周一可以来学习、享受萨萨舞。来自古巴的古斯塔沃老师绝对可以让你在三周内享受到意想不到的舞蹈体验！每节课后，更有拉丁现场乐队演奏，舞会无休！放纵热舞！
Every Wednesday from 8.30 PM, happy swing dancers travel together in pairs across the dance floor! On WED 16TH we host our monthly swing theme party, so prepare the gold glitter and diamonds as we visit the dragon's den, and on WED 23RD our swing community will host a Django Reinhardt tribute night.

Every Tuesday at 9PM Modernista's art community comes together to create wonders during our Drink & Draw sessions with different themes each week. Whether you feel like giving drawing a try or you are more up for a drinking only, the event's very relaxed atmosphere will drag you in more than once!
