BLUE SKIES! Wherever we are from, we all dream of blue skies! So this April, in a tribute to those who are working to protect our environment, Rumble in the Jumble is embracing the optimism that comes with every Blue Sky.

On Saturday, April 13th, at the fabulous Modernista, our market will be once again hosting an awesome array of vendors.
When we see this community of Beijingers who are creative and passionate about making our world a better place, we start to feel more optimistic. That’s why, this month, each of our vendors is like a ray of sunshine in a clear Blue Sky!!!

From intricately hand-beaded jewelry to tasty vegan treats. Home remedies to beautifully embroidered cloth! Organic Ethiopian coffees, aromatic Indian spices, and savoury Mediterranean spreads!! Books galore!!! All this and so much more!

Rumble in the Jumble is a monthly pop-up bazaar, which embraces the creativity in people, and enthusiastically welcomes vendors of all kinds. Come and join us on Saturday, April 13th from 12-6pm at the marvelous Modernista.

What is Rumble in the Jumble?
这是一个什么样的集市？
Every month we hold a “jumble sale,” but with Beijing characteristics.
Rumble in the Jumble 是一个二手/手工商品集市。
The Cambridge English dictionary defines a Jumble Sale as;
“a sale of a mixed collection of things that people no longer want.”
But we, at Rumble in the Jumble, believe that this definition doesn’t do justice to the concept. Therefore, we’d like to redefine it as;
“a sale of a mixed collection of every thing you’ve ever wanted”
剑桥英语辞典定义“Jumble Sale”是一个售卖二手闲置物品的集市，但是在Rumblein the Jumble集市，我们超越了这个简单定义，我们是“一个能满足您各种购物需求的集市”。

BLUE SKIES! Wherever we are from, we all dream of blue skies! That's why, this month, every one of our vendors is like a fresh breeze in a clear blue sky... Let me tell you all about them!
蓝色天空! 不论你来自哪里，肯定渴望蓝天白云的天气! 四月份，为了致敬保护环境的人们,我们的主题定为“蓝天”！ 我们的集市积极盼望每个蓝天白云的好天气！这就是为什么，这个月，我们的每一个供应商都像在清澈的蓝天里清风......让我告诉你关于他们的一切！
On Saturday, April 13th, at the fabulous Modernista, our market will be once again hosting an awesome array of vendors. One of them is ME... Charlotte White!! If you've met me at markets, you may know me as Jar Jar Minx. Let me tell you a bit about my strange little brand.
Jar Jar Minx is a gourmet food brand which grew from my passion for Mediterranean cuisine and a flare for culinary creativity. Olives, nuts, and fresh herbs play key roles in JJM's delicious creations, which include a variety of tapenades, unique jams, and even rich liquors to make you tipsy.
Since we're all trying to do everything we can to protect the environment, Jar Jar Minx would also like to remind you just how handy a jar can be!! Don't throw away your jars! Re-use them, or bring them along to Rumble in the Jumble! We will not let them go to waste!

Next up... Lolita, with Latuha!
Lolita’s family all loves crafting, so together they started a family brand, Latuha… and Team Rumble is excited that they’ll be introducing their unique jewelry and crafts to Beijing! Latuha uses natural stones to make each individually designed piece. The love and positive energy that they pour into each piece of jewelry is clear to see.

Next up is Swannie, with Zest!
Zest was created with purpose of sharing Swannie’s unique knowledge of homemade skincare products. It started with workshops, but before long, a demand appeared for handmade natural skincare, which led her to create the Zest Skincare product line.
Zest Skincare wants to offer affordable all natural products, because they believe nature provides everything we need for our bodies. They take pride in formulating products with ingredients you can recognize.
And since we’re all doing everything we can to take care of our environment, Zest is also on a mission to educate people and build awareness of the active role each individual has in choosing the right products for both yourself and your environment.

ZXBeading is an independent handmade jewelry brand, focusing on beaded and woven creations. A little bead is tiny and simple, but when you stitch them together, there are thousands of beautiful possibilities. ZXBeading always emphasizes personal style, pursues the integration of original design and classic patterns, and embraces the concept of free, casual and natural style in every piece of work.

Next up is Jon, with Crafters Brewing. What better way to get out and enjoy the spring than with a tasty beverage in the sunshine! Crafters Brewing makes craft beer, cider and occasionally mead too. They have always got something new and and awesome brewing. There aren't many places in Beijing where you can find brews as creative as Crafters aromatic Rooibos Cider, or as ass-kicking as their Barleywine.

Artist couple Jia Yuanhua and Yang Zhaohui (Also known as Sunny) will be joining Rumble for the first time this month.
A bit about the artists in their own words:
Jia Yuan Hua works mainly in oil and acrylic paintings, and focuses on traditional Chinese
cultural motives such as architecture and decorative elements. His works have been shown in exhibitions around the world and can be found in some important collections.
Sunny loves to paint old objects and imagine the beauty and loss they once had. She would like to be known as a little woman who enjoys art and brings tiny but indispensable beauty to people.

Sunny 和 Jia 将加入 Rumble 的第一次。有点关于艺术家在自己的话：
贾元华侧重于油画和丙烯画的创作，作品专注于表现中国传统文化的建筑，图案等。他的作品多次参加国内外重要展览，一些作品被重要人士和藏家收藏。 我热衷去描绘这些经过岁月洗礼的物件，想象它们曾经有过的美丽与失落。 我愿做一位享受艺术的小女子，把那些微小的但不容忽视的美带给更多人。
LouLan will also be joining Rumble for the first time, and bringing her lovely hand made home decor. Made primarily from vintage and environmentally friendly materials, LouLan uses hand woven sashiko, hand dyed vintage indigo, and the highest quality organic cotton and hemp. Hand-woven cloths from pre-Communist Party times known as the Kuomintang period, in the 60s, 70s, and early 80s. The results are gorgeous and environmentally friendly bags, table cloths, pillow cases, and more!

Chariots Handmaydz is a company that lives to make a difference. 100% of their profit proceeds go towards different charities, as well as empowering women and children through different programs. Tina hand makes unique and beautiful jewellery and other accessories that are a fusion of 3 elements... Africa where the designer is from, Asia where Chariots was born, and a touch of different parts of the world. Most importantly, Chariots products are handmade with love and good intentions. They make a statement!

Also make sure to check out the Rumble Booksellers stall. It’s a community stall in which anybody can participate. The books available range from fiction to non-fiction to educational, Chinese to English to French to Swahili (Okay, I don’t know if there will actually be any Swahili books, but if somebody wants to sell them, they can!) Be sure to come and have a browse.

It costs 10kuai to be part of the stall. Books must be dropped off at the venue on the day of the sale before the sale starts.
您只需交10元钱来参与售书，在当天集市开始之前把您想售卖的书籍带来交到二手书摊位就可以了。
