On Thursday we invite the metal band Nekroma to present their Soundscapes in an evening of limitless stage experimentation. Soaring melodies, meditative chants, and a shadow play performed onto a scene that is painted simultaneously on the back wall. The audience is also encouraged to draw during the show and have their art projected during the performance!

“Nekroma is dark journey through strange soundscapes and apocalyptic fairy tales, describing the extinction of romance, the misguided worship of false idols and machines, and sinners reaping what they sow.”

Nekroma is an experimental art rock quartet based in Beijing. While the group began as a collaboration between the bands Nakoma and the GUIGUISUISUI, Nekroma has taken on its style and identity distinct from the two bands that forged it. Drawing on a range of influences from all over the globe Nekroma utilizes vocals, skateboard guitar, drums, bass, electronic samples, and synths to create a backdrop for carnival of intriguing characters including King Necro, Pumpkin Queen, Diavolo Rosso, and The Hanged Man. On record they present twisted fairy tales and Lovecraftian fantasies, while live they mix theatricality akin to a silent horror film with digital painting created in real time and projected over the band, creating a feedback loop between sight and sound. Nekroma beckons.

Shining Soundscape
Shining Soundscape (SS) is a new live art musical performance that combines both live digital video painting and improvised ambient music, to create a backdrop over which performance and meditative chanting combine with electronic music, in a meeting of minds and cultures.
Shining Soundscape (简称SS)闪灵氛围艺术是全新的艺术音乐表演形式。将数码影像绘画与即兴氛围音乐同时结合的艺术表演，由Digital LIVE PAINTING即兴绘画，加上冥想唱诵与氛围电子乐组成。
Guiguisusiui is the duo of Chinese spiritual artist Nan Guazi (南瓜子) and her husband, British musician Dann Gaymer. Nan Guazi and Dann joined together to create a new incarnation of GUIGUISUISUI in 2014, and then Nekroma in 2016. Over the past four years they have completed many art performance projects together, including playing roughly 300 shows in 20 countries. Most recently they developed the Shining Soundscape concept on their recently completed tour of eastern Europe, which was well received in Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Austria and the United Kingdom.
这一艺术表演方式由中国灵性艺术家南瓜子，与其丈夫英国人类学教师Dann Gaymer组成。南瓜子与Dan四年间组成鬼鬼祟祟乐队以及Nakroma乐队，这四年他们共同完成了许多艺术演出项目，他们每年都会在全球进行大量的巡回演出。这四年间他们的脚步遍布了世界上20个国家以及多达300多场的演出。他们将全新的SS表演形式带到了他们刚刚结束的东欧巡演，演出在德国，捷克，波兰，奥地利，与英国大受好评。
During the Shining Soundscape Nekroma performances a combination of digital synthesizers, samplers, and live instruments run through effects processors, while soaring melodies and meditative chants drift over the top. Simultaneously a shadow play is performed onto a scene that is painted in real time onto the back wall of the stage using a piece of software called Tagtool. In this sense the whole performance environment becomes a canvas for shining light, shadows, sounds, costumes and movement, with the audience being wrapped in the atmosphere conjured.
在SS演出中，Dann Gaymer 利用电子合成器与大量自制编排的效果器与自创的滑板单弦吉他制作氛围音乐。而南瓜子在氛围音乐当中冥想唱诵，与此同时南瓜子用数码绘画的方式将自己的影子与绘画创作投影到环境空间，墙面，以及画布上。一边唱诵一边绘画，在极具光绘闪耀的影子与强烈的氛围音乐中，给观众带来极具灵性，视听共鸣的艺术氛围感受.
Shining Soundscape combines painting, music, and performance into a brand new form of artistic expression that creates a marriage between delicate brush strokes and the soaring melodies. We firmly believe in the future development of SS projects, and the limitless possibilities that a combination of painting and music can open up for future forms of art performance.
