This Thursday, Italian-based, Hong Kong born singer and composer Heidi Li, accompanied by pianist Manuel Magrini, will be introducing her music in Beijing. Join us for an evening of of vocal jazz tunes.

HEIDI LI

Heidi Li is a Hong Kong born Jazz/Neosoul singer composer who grew up with a Cantonese opera background under her parents’ influence. At the age of 11, she won a Cantonese Opera singing competition on TVB, the most important TV channel in Hong Kong. After having lived in Canada, the UK and France, she has been living in Italy for more than 7 years where she completed a degree in Vocal Jazz Performance with the full marks of 110, studying with some of the finest Italian musicians including Diana Torto and Stefano Battaglia. She has also participated in various Jazz workshops and has the chance to have studied with Jeff Ballard, Theo Bleckmann, Miguel Zenon, Kenny Werner and Jen Shyu etc. In 2016, she published her first EP “Third Culture Kid” with a team of Italian musicians, which includes 6 of her original compositions written in English, Italian and Cantonese. She has also been active on YouTube, singing folk songs in different Italian dialects. In October 2016, she was invited by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to sing at the States General of the Italian Language in the World in Florence where the President of Italy Sergio Mattarella was present. In 2018, her concert with 450 seats at Hong Kong Sai Wan Ho Civic Center, organized by the Italian Cultural Institute and Consulate General of Italy, was sold out.

李恺怡Heidi来自香港, 是爵士歌手和作曲家. 自小受父母薰陶下学习粤剧粤曲, 11岁时在香港无线电视举办的粤曲霸主挑战赛中得到冠军. 曾留学加拿大, 英国及法国. 随后定居意大利, 在锡耶纳爵士 大学(Siena Jazz University), 跟随Diana Torto 和Stefano Battaglia等等老师学习, 凭毕业论文 “中国戏曲和爵士的结合: 广东粤曲音乐结构和表达在爵士乐的应用”以110分满分考取音乐学位. 此 外她亦有参与多个爵士工作坊和课程, 跟多位世界顶尖的老师如Jeff Ballard, Theo Bleckmann, Miguel Zenon, Kenny Werner和徐秋雁等学习. 在意大利多年的她, 除了经常跟不同的当地音乐人合作外, 亦有好几个长期合作的固定团队. 去年, 她词曲监一手包辨, 推出了一张名为Third Culture Kid 的灵魂音乐个人唱片, 包含了六首英语丶粤 语和意大利语的歌曲. 这充份反应了她多元文化的精神以及对音乐和语言的热情. 也正是因为这一点 她在网上发布了一个名为”Heidi 唱尽意大利地方语言” 的计划, 上载了一系列在意国不同省份拍摄 的音乐短片, 一边用各地地方语言唱出地道民歌, 一边介绍当地风土民情. 这顶计划在2016年十月得 到意大利外交部赏识以及邀请, 把此项目带上舞台, 到一个国家举办的意大利文化推广会议中演出, 当日意国总统马塔雷拉亦有在场. 2018年2月她得到香港意大利领使馆文化部邀请在香港西湾河文娱中 心举行了一场全院满坐的二重奏音乐会. 2019年, 她受到意大利驻广州领事邀请, 重新为意大利国歌 编曲, 在意大利国庆酒会上表演.

MANUEL MAGRINI

Despite his young age, Manuel, is a rising star of the Italian Jazz scene having already won various national awards including the prestigious Luttazzi award (2017) as the best pianist, performing at Blue Note Milan which was broadcast on the Italian national television Rai1. He has performed in many important Jazz festivals such as Umbria Jazz, Bologna Jazz, Iseo Jazz and Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. In 2014, Manuel was selected to be a part of the National Youth Jazz Talents Orchestra. In the same year, he also won a scholarship at Fara Music Festival to study at the Collective School of Music in New York. In 2016 his first solo piano album, entitled "Unexpected", was published by the label "EncoreJazz". The album was presented at the Vanity Fair stand at Milan Piano City, European Jazz Festival of Izmir in Turkey, at Venice La Fenice Theatre and other important national and international stages in countries such as Mexico, Scotland, United Arab Emirates, Norway, Belgium, Kuwait. Manuel has already collaborated with many well-known jazz stars including Ares Tavolazzi, Ellade Bandini, Paolo Fresu, Gabriele Mirabassi, Fabio Zeppetella, Bebo Ferra, Maurizio Giammarco, Enrico Rava, Achille Succi, Massimo Manzi, Paolo Damiani, Enrico Intra, Rosario Giuliani, John Arnold, Rick Margitza and Johnathan Kreisberg.

Manuel Magrini, 生于1990年, 以110 e Lode (超优满分) 毕业于佩鲁贾Morlacchi莫拉基音乐学院古典钢琴系。爵士钢琴和即兴技巧师承于大师Ramberto Ciammarughi。年纪轻轻的Manuel已经是意大利爵士界的新星，除了曾在 Umbria Jazz, Bologna Jazz, Iseo Jazz 和 Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome等重要舞台上表演，他已 经嬴了不少全国比赛包括2017年的Luttazzi比赛钢琴冠军，在米兰的Blue Note举行并于国家电视台RAI1播出。Manuel己经登上过不少国际的重要舞台如Umbria Jazz, Bologna Jazz, Iseo Jazz 和罗马的音乐公园礼堂。从2014年开始，Manuel被选为全国青年爵士精英乐团的一份子，并于同年考取Fara Music Festival奖学金到纽约 Collective School of Music进修。他的第一张个人钢琴独奏专辑"Unexpected" 在2016年经EncoreJazz唱片公司 发行，发表于米兰Piano City、威尼斯凤凰剧院、土耳其伊兹密尔欧洲爵士节和墨西哥、苏格兰、阿拉伯联合酋长 国、挪威、比利时、科威特等地的舞台。Manuel已经与许多着名的爵士乐明星合作，包括Ares Tavolazzi，Ellade Bandini，Paolo Fresu，Gabriele Mirabassi，Fabio Zeppetella，Bebo Ferra，Maurizio Giammarco，Enrico Rava，Achille Succi，Massimo Manzi，Paolo Damiani，Enrico Intra，Rosario Giuliani ，John Arnold，Rick Margitza和Johnathan Kreisberg

JONGMOON PARK

Jong moon Park is a South Korean bass player. He graduated from the Dongduk University in jazz studies. Before his graduation he already had many major performing experiences such as the famous “Daegu International Jazz Festival”.

Jongmoon’s style is based on a constant team work and interplay with other instruments.

His playing shows many good points about sound, skill and harmony, crafted by a lots of experiences with great musicians.

Jongmoon Park是一位来自韩国的贝斯手，曾在东国大学学习爵士乐。他早在研究生时期就已经积攒了丰富的演出经验。

在演出中，Jongmoon非常专注于与乐队成员的配合及和声的黏合度。在与众多优秀音乐家合作过程中，他练就了优秀的技巧与和声能力，这一切也将在他自己的演奏中呈现出来。

FIACH O'BRIAN

A full-time musician and music teacher from Ireland, Fiach studied at the prestigious Newpark Music School in Dublin where he majored in rhythm studies and performance. He has been an active member of the Beijing jazz scene since relocating to the city in 2015. He also teaches at the Beijing Contemporary Music Academy.

Fiach是来自爱尔兰的一个全职的音乐家和音乐教师。他就读于都柏林著名的新公园音乐学院，在那里主修节奏研究及表演。Fiach于2015移居北京，此后一直活跃在北京爵士音乐界。此外，他还受聘于北京当代音乐学院。
